The modeling career of a native of the American town of Santa Fe, Arizona Mewes, began in 2008, when the girl starred for a couple of magazines, including Cosmopolitan. Shortly before the next fashion week, the blog with the self-explanatory name The Fresh Face predicted a great future for her, albeit at first and as a runway model. But before the start of a new series of shows, Arizona was forced to leave the modeling business due to a sudden pregnancy. Mewes devoted two years to childcare, and during the last New York Fashion Week, she triumphantly returned to the modeling business.
It is worth noting that Arizona Muse took part in one of the recent shows of the Resort 2011 season, but two of her appearances on Bill Blass were noticed only by the meticulous users of The Fashion Spot. One of them said that he saw the girl at the casting of designers Max and Lyubov Azria. Apparently, the versatile appearance of Arizona was perfect for the shows of both collections of the French couple, this season again promoting functional minimalism. Muse first opened and closed the BCBG Max Azria show, and then twice exited on Max Azria. After participating in the show Marc Jacobs, and then Marc by Marc Jacobs, even Style.com started talking about Arizona as a promising newcomer. True, Style File bloggers focused on her short haircut, but still suggested that an impressive resume would contribute to Arizona's appearance at the upcoming shows in Europe. Perhaps it was the birth of a child that helped Mewes take part in one of the most talked about shows of New York week, Proenza Schouler: recently the creative directors of the brand announced that they want to see girls with life experience on the catwalks. In addition, Altuzarra, Philosophy di Alberta Ferreti, Herve Leger and Narciso Rodriguez were invited to their shows.
Arizona is a pseudonym for Muse. Her real name is Zoe, as her relatives and friends call her. The girl lives with her family in Brooklyn. She is currently preparing for the Parisian and Milan fashion weeks. After an impressive list of New York shows, the guys at Bellazon and TFS are hoping to see her on two of their most enviable shows - Prada and Miu Miu.
So far, practically nothing is known about the girl with incredibly long legs, huge eyes and full lips - Melody Monrose. A month ago, she joined the Wilhelmina agency, and since then she has had several test shots, looking at which she is compared to Chanel Iman or Naomi Campbell. When publishing her portrait, Fashion Gone Rogue authors mentioned that Melody was born in the Caribbean.
After working as a model for about a month, Melody made her debut at the Nickolas K show, then walked on Jen Kao and Vena Cava. As a result, in a week the girl changed a dozen looks: from grunge Rag & Bone and Ohne Titel, minimalist Max Azria, 3.1 Phillip Lim and Herve Leger to romantic Jason Wu and Marc Jacobs. Melody's popularity is not accidental: now dark-skinned models very often appear on the catwalks. Many attribute this phenomenon to Michelle Obama's announcement of the new style icon. And if earlier one of Michelle's favorite designers, Jason Wu, did not invite black fashion models to his shows, then this season his show was opened by Joan Smalls.
Thanks to a good start, Melody Monrose made it to Essence magazine's list of seven Catwalk Queens and, like all newcomer models, is going to run shows in Milan and Paris.
Young British Katarina Hessen is another newcomer to the modeling business who can easily make it to the Top Models Starter lists by Style.com and Models.com. As in the case of Melody, almost nothing is known about Kat's interests and personal life (for convenience, she prefers to shorten her name): interviews with promising fashion models will begin after the end of the fashion weeks in Paris and Milan. But looking at her photographs from street blogs, it is already becoming clear that she adores grunge music, comics and cartoons.
Kat's restrained and somewhat alien appearance (the assignment of these epithets is clearly facilitated by a wide forehead, slightly protruding ears and a small chink) helped the girl to get to one of the main shows of the past week - Alexander Wang, Rodarte and Marc Jacobs - and did not prevent her from presenting the strict collections of Nicole Miller and Preen, demonic Cushnie et Ochs and romantic Jil Stuart. Now Kat takes part in London Fashion Week: she has already appeared at the shows of Topshop Unique, Margarette Howell and Richard Nicoll.
