It looks like Fifty Shades of Gray will not live up to our expectations: Despite the abundance of bold scenes in the bestselling book by E. L. James, viewers will not see much in the film adaptation of the book. As Jamie Dornan, performer of the role of Christian Gray, said in an interview, according to the terms of the contract, he will not be shown to the audience in all its glory. “We would like the film to appeal to as wide an audience as possible and not shock them,” Dornan said. "We didn't want to make the film meaningless and too naturalistic."
Dornan also said that filming explicit scenes with Dakota Johnson did not excite him at all: “There are dozens of hairy men around you who move wires and equipment. Not very sexy, unless you like being stared at. I don’t.”
In addition, Dornan appears to be a little shy about filming a book that gets so harshly criticized. Asked if he and his wife had read the bestselling book by E. L. James, he said no, as they were "the people who have the Guardian's start page in their browser." He also admitted that he does not care what his dad will say about this role, but he is afraid that his friends will make fun of him.
