Not a secretthat it is easy to spoil the film by choosing actors who do not work together at all for the main roles, and vice versa - the worst scenario is sometimes saved by a successful casting. This year there were many films, whose title couples decidedly made them only better - we decided to recall the coolest and most unexpected: from Tom Hardy and the dog to the enchanting duet Elizabeth Banks and her yellow dress.

Daria Tatarkova
Interview
James Franco and Seth Rogen

The funniest and most wacky couple in the cinema this year are definitely Franco and Rogen, completely confused about where the bromance ends and just a romance begins. In addition to their idiotic off-screen antics in front of grateful onlookers, in the cinema they also cannot part. Almost becoming the cause of the armed conflict between the United States and North Korea, the actors were indirectly to blame for the fact that comrade Kim's hackers hacked Sony. We are sure that even knowing such a result in advance, they would still have made their own film about the assassination attempt on the head of the North Korean state - all with the same idiotic jokes timidly balancing on the verge of good taste and adequacy.
Gone Girl
Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike

The adaptation of a literary saying about the state of marriage was a success:
here is a sore subject, an excellent director's work, and a worthy primary source. Affleck and Pike turned out to be perfect incarnations of Flynn's characters, albeit from a slightly different angle. The film versions of Nick and Amy constantly replay themselves, alternately deceiving either their passion or the viewer, who pretty quickly realizes that you shouldn't trust anyone here. Living in deception and a thirst for their own righteousness, Amy and Nick have long disliked each other, as couples do in rom-coms, but they still end up together - because, like in any relationship, everything is complicated here.
Obshchak
Tom Hardy and Pit Bull Puppy

Even before the release of the film, we were touched by the photographs from the set of Tom Hardy hugging a puppy. In general, during the work on the film, five puppies managed to change, and with each Hardy established his own special relationship, as, indeed, his character. A pit bull puppy becomes a witness to a criminal showdown in Brooklyn and a conductor of the relationship between the main characters Bob and Nadia. Tom Hardy carries the puppy in his bosom, clinging to it as a last resort of redemption. While the issues of money laundering and those who set up or killed whom are being resolved, the main character is trying to find salvation in a small dog, which he went out and saved from certain death.
The Hunger Games:
Mockingjay. Part I
Jennifer Lawrence and Donald Sutherland

Katniss's relationship with President Snow remains as perverse as it always has. The sadistic ruler, hungry for the blood of innocent children, unsuccessfully tries in the penultimate part of the film adaptation of Susan Collins's books to contain the rebellion of the districts. Ordinary people struggle with great difficulty and at the cost of a huge number of victims, and the main conductors of what is happening are still the above. Katniss is desperately trying to cope with the manipulations of the dictator, who continues to literally shower her with white roses - a kind of admiration for the girl's desperation shines through in his actions. He even sends her a "gift" at the end of the film in his own insane spirit - her beloved Pete, who has completely gone insane.
The Stars Are Fault
Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort

The main success among teenage romantic films of this year owes not only to the author of the book, which is the basis, but also to the actors who played the lovers Hazel and Augustus. Even children, they are forced to live through their most enthusiastic years against the backdrop of the fight against cancer, from which not everyone comes out alive. Bestselling author John Green wanted to show that a short life can still be incredibly fulfilling, and the characters played by Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort prove this in full. The fears and feelings of the heroes, heightened to the limit, hit the viewer with their fist right in the chest: the relationship between Hazel and Gus will make them cry more than one liter of tears, while simultaneously thanking the higher powers for everything beautiful that we have.
Blonde on the air
Elizabeth Banks and the yellow dress

Megan Miles is unlucky on all fronts - and with this dress she is definitely the least fortunate. She missed the position of her dreams, her fiance left her and instead of quietly suffering, lying on the couch, she discharged herself into a dubious yellow dress and went to the club. However, the heroine will make the main mistake when she rushes out of the apartment of a casual lover in the morning and finds herself in the middle of nowhere, without a phone, money, car and still in that very depraved yellow dress. The comedy, built on the hypertrophied consequences of running away from sex for one night, retells the simple truth that you should not be intimidated by new acquaintances, and that it is high time for society to shake off all the stereotypes associated with short yellow tight dresses.
Sunstroke
Nikita Mikhalkov and the Russian language

Taking Bunin's "Sunstroke" and "Cursed Days" as a basis, Mikhalkov shot a picture about love and war, preceding it with a trailer with a lot of interrogative words. “How did it all happen? How did it all start? How she sings! What is your name? It was with these hands that they ruined a country. How to live with it now? Why is this all? We are with you - why? How did it all happen? How did it all start? " - the director himself did not answer all these questions. An affair with the Russian language, in his own words, he nevertheless happened not only on the screen, but also on paper. The director admitted that he rewrote the story "Sunstroke" eleven times by hand in order to better understand Bunin.
Veronica Mars
Kristen Bell and Jason Doering

The favorites of the 2000s and the main TV pair of teenage maximalists, Veronica and Logan, never saw the end of their relationship in the series, which did not receive the last season. The fans nicknamed LoVe (Logan + Veronica) were forced to ask viewers for money on Kickstarter to show them how it all ended. Director Rob Thomas has always dreamed of completing the sequel to Veronica Mars, as are many of the cast who saw the show at the peak of their careers - the final film came out this year in limited release. As you might expect, the romance stretching into eternity, breaking lives and barriers, ended with a happy ending. But why it was necessary to insert ten years of meaningless boring relationships of the protagonists with other people into the plot is completely incomprehensible.
Beloved
Elisabeth Moss and Marc Duplass

One of the best love films of this year is being played out like a play. The main actors, without any involvement from other people (with the exception of a cameo appearance of the always charming Ted Danson), show an escalation of relations on the verge of failure. Their seemingly perfect copies seduce an unfortunate couple of characters seeking the former joy of a relationship. Needless to say, when your opponent is you only better, nothing good can be expected. Love does not conquer everything - and the beautifully acting (each two versions of "self") Elisabeth Moss and Marc Duplass clearly demonstrate this.
They came together
Paul Rudd and Amy Poehler

"They Came Together" (it is clear that the Russian name does not convey puns at all) can be viewed on iTunes and with might and main enjoy the ironic look of two wonderful comedians Amy Poehler and Paul Rudd on rom-coms as we know them. A collection of romantic clichés, which even we did not hesitate to walk through, does not shy away from outright idiocy, and even some touching. Joel and Molly are the quintessence of standard heroes: she is the owner of an indie candy store, he works for a big evil corporation that threatens to close her small business. Although everyone understands perfectly how their relationship will develop and how it will end, the predictability here is the main character on a par with the actors, and watching her is a separate pleasure.
