This spring many worthy spectacular films await us. Starting with the long-awaited "Mad Max" and ending with "The Avengers", which we will see almost before everyone else in the world because of the new initiative of the Ministry of Culture not to release a film at the same time as Russian films. Also in the rental, finally, there will be released an adventurous comedy with Johnny Depp "Mordecai", which was promised to be shown in the winter. For those who are tired of multi-million dollar explosions and chases, there are beautiful films of a radically different kind.

Daria Tatarkova
A robot named Chappy
Chappie

Six years ago, Blomkamp's District 9, which is as different as possible from the pure glossy sci-fi we are accustomed to, became revolutionary science fiction, both in terms of plot and visually. If Blomkamp himself had numerous complaints about the director's second film - "Elysium", then with "Chappy" everything should go much better. The script, as in the case of District 9, was assisted by the director's wife, Terry Tatchell, and the film was based on his very first short, Tetra Vaal. In the story, humanity began to use robots as a military force. The protagonist Chappy is not a simple robot - he can think, feel and learn new things like a human. These abilities make Chappie a target for the military and open up to the evil influence of the gang played by the musicians Die Antwoord.
Sniper
American sniper

The Oscar-nominated and recent Oscar-winning military drama Sniper is based on the memoirs of Texan Chris Kyle about his service in Iraq. The book became a bestseller and received a lot of praise for its impartial account of how a hitman works in a war. The adaptation of Clint Eastwood received exactly the opposite reviews: critics considered "The Sniper" too blunt and deliberately exposing the military conflict as a black and white story, in which all violence from Kyle is presented solely as positive deeds. The main character of the tape was played by Bradley Cooper, who gained 20 kilograms of muscle mass for the role, and one of his children was a plastic baby that so outraged the public that the scenes with the doll had to be re-filmed for the DVD version.

Cymbelin
Cymbeline
Transposition of not the most famous, but from this no less worthy Shakespearean tragedy "Cimeblin" in a modern way. Director Michael Almereida decided to repeat his main success, the adaptation of "Hamlet", again calling for the lead role of Ethan Hawke. Instead of a confrontation between the Romans and the British kingdom, there are police officers and bikers, and King Cymbelin, performed by Ed Harris, is a drug lord. With the conclusion of Sons of Anarchy, Almereida's film, with its glorification of a dangerous life in a gang, should come in handy more than ever. The king's daughter Imogen will be played by Dakota Johnson, who, at first glance, cannot be recognized without her usual bangs, and Milla Jovovich will play the role of the Queen, who decided to put her son from her previous marriage on the throne.

Divergent Chapter 2: Insurgent
Insurgent
For those who are intimidated by the monstrous title of the film, let us explain: this is an adaptation of the second book by Veronica Roth - the author of the hit young adult trilogy "Divergent" - and the sequel to the film of the same name. The main character of the tape, played by Shailene Woodley, is now on the run and is trying to take control of her fears, but continues to fight the oppressive organization that controls the life of her world. Dystopia "Divergent" explores the dire scenario of the future of North America; in the second film, we must finally explain what events of the past forced people to split into factions and subject their whole life to such a rigid order.

Fast and furious 7
Furious 7

The new, seventh part of "Fast and the Furious" turned out to be the most tragic of all. When the film was half shot, the performer of one of the main roles, Paul Walker, died in a car accident. The work on the film was suspended out of respect for the untimely departed friend and colleague. Despite the sad event, the snooty tone of the tape was preserved. As befits the "Fast and the Furious", we are waiting for a lot of explosions, chases with beautiful cars, incredible stunts - in general, the maximum luxury and wealth. Deep dialogues and unpredictable plot twists are not to be expected, but let's be honest - that's not why Fast and Furious is loved. The film series has existed for a long time in its own separate parallel universe, and in the movies, Fast and Furious is seen as a funny tale about the daring and the rich.

Welcome to Paradise
Vice

Strongly reminiscent of Michael Crichton's Western World, Welcome to Paradise offers its own version of a dystopian future. Bruce Willis plays a businessman and founder of the entertainment center Vice, where clients can bring their most forbidden fantasies to life with the help of humanoid androids. Trouble begins when android Kelly realizes what is happening and escapes. Interestingly, HBO, Jonathan Nolan and JJ Abrams are preparing a series based on Crayton's Western World, and something tells us that the TV version of the story will be much better than all its predecessors.

Room 44
Child 44
The eponymous bestseller by Briton Tom Rob Smith, based on the case of the Soviet serial killer Andrei Chikatilo, won many awards at one time, and has now received a well-deserved film adaptation. The drama unfolds in the Soviet Union during the reign of Stalin and touches upon the painful problems of that time, in particular, tells about the installation to the last to hush up the fact that a maniac is operating in the country. An MGB agent played by Tom Hardy will investigate a series of monstrous murders of children. In addition to him, the Russians will be portrayed by a star cast of Noomi Rapace, Gary Oldman and Vincent Cassel; the film is produced by Ridley Scott. The audience will not hear Hardy's confusing accent in the Russian box office - maybe it's for the best.
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Marvel is advancing on all fronts: several series about lesser-known characters are planned on television this year, and the continuation of the main film story of the franchise about the superhero team will be shown on the big screen. The team of Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Black Widow and Hawkeye will be joined by the Scarlet Witch and Mercury. Recall that at first the newcomers supported the main opponent of the "Avengers" Ultron, played by James Spader. Artificial intelligence Ultron (which Spader really plays, not just voices), created by Tony Stark, gets out of control and decides to bring peace on earth in the fastest way - by destroying humanity.

Beauties on the run
Hot pursuit

A comedy about women directed by a woman? It’s too good to be true, but it’s true: the famous American choreographer and director of the rom-com "The Proposal" Anne Fletcher this time took on a film with explosions and chases. The main roles were played by Reese Witherspoon, who remembered for the sake of such a case her native southern accent, and Sofia Vergara. The heroines join forces to escape the corrupt police and drug mafia. The police officer (Witherspoon) must protect a key witness (Vergara) so that she can testify against the drug lord in court, but the operation, of course, cannot be quietly carried out.

Mad Max: Fury Road
Mad Max: Fury Road

Another big role for Tom Hardy this year. George Miller's legendary franchise, after thirty years of inactivity, has finally got a sequel. Hardy replaced the previous Mad Max - Mel Gibson, who has long lost interest in the role. The fourth film was created with the participation of the famous British comic book artist Brendan McCarthy, who came up with a new visual aesthetics for the film. The action of the new "Mad Max" takes place shortly after the events of the very first part. Having survived the death of his wife and son, Max goes to the Outback and agrees to help the heroine Charlize Theron in her mad decision to cross the desert.
Earth of the future
Tomorrowland

Little is known about the "Earth of the Future". For example, the fact that the plot is based on the thematic area of the main children's park of the planet Disneyland causes a skeptical grin. However, skepticism changes to delight immediately after watching the trailer. The plot of the new Disney sa-fi is not revealed, but it is known that the main characters, played by George Clooney and the young actress Britt Robertson, find the opportunity to travel to a mysterious place somewhere in time and space called "Tomorrowland". All their actions in a parallel world have a direct impact on what happens in our reality. The work on the tape was entrusted to Brad Bird, who invented "The Incredibles" and shot the highest-grossing part of "Mission Impossible" - "Phantom Protocol".

Crossing
The crossing
Action master John Woo knows best how to make a beautiful epic. "Crossing" was released in the world in two parts, what exactly will be shown in Russia - the whole thing, the edited film or only the second part - is still unclear. Several plot lines, including love stories, develop against the backdrop of hostilities during the Chinese Revolution and the collapse of the Taiping motor ship, which claimed the lives of one and a half thousand people. In general, the "Crossing" has every chance of becoming an Asian "Titanic", and even in 3D.

Spy
Spy

The spring film season closes with a great comedy starring Melissa McCarthy. The Emmy winner has long proven with the Mike & Molly sitcom that she is quite capable of leading a big project, and not just with Sandra Bullock. In "The Spy" (although the title of the film should be translated as "Spy", of course) McCarthy plays a CIA analyst who agrees to trade her seat at the office table for the dangerous job of an undercover agent. The film was shot by Freaks & Geeks creator Paul Feig, who has already successfully worked with McCarthy at Bridesmaids. He, by the way, will deal with the new "Ghostbusters" with a female cast and - hurray - Melissa McCarthy in one of the roles.
