The modern world gives us so many opportunities that even on vacation you can do everything at once. That is why we propose to plan the upcoming vacation season with maximum benefit: decide where you will go to rest, draw up a sports training program for yourself, and at the same time do a good deed. We are talking about charity races that will take place all over the world this summer and by running which you can help children with autism, people with multiple sclerosis, cancer patients and even Amur tigers. The main thing is to remember that participation in any race (and even more so in a half and marathon) requires preliminary sports training.

In recent years, charity runs in Moscow have been held with enviable regularity and virtually all year round. The closest one - "Sport for Good" - will be held this Saturday in the Main Botanical Garden. N. V. Tsitsin of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and its goal is to combat stereotypes about people with special needs. You can take part in the race both individually and with the whole family (or, for example, gather a team of like-minded people). For children - distances of 50 m, 300 m and 600 m. Adults can register for routes 7 km, 14 km and 21 km long. In addition, the program includes animators, game master classes, face painting and a family quest. The organizers also promise to arrange a children's area where the child will be occupied while you run your soul mate.

All funds collected during the race will be used to develop a methodological guide "Let's start talking." Its parents will be able to use it at home for the development of speech, thinking, memory and attention of children, including those with Down syndrome.

You can register for the race until May 25 inclusive.

Kiev, Ukraine, May 29

PROBEG. KIEV. UA

One of the oldest running events in Ukraine, "Chestnut Run" will be held in Kiev for the 24th time. The first charity race in 1993 was attended by 150 people, today their number is more than 10 thousand. For those who have never been to Kiev and do not like boring excursion groups, the Run under Chestnuts is a great opportunity to see the key sights of the city on the run. Usually locals try to avoid Khreshchatyk because of the crowds of tourists, but on the day of the race, the main street is transformed: it is part of the route of the athletes, but the crowds on this day are not annoying, but rather encouraging.

The addressee of help "Run under the Chestnuts" is the Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. In just 16 years of supporting the Center, the participants of the Chestnut Run raised about 3 million hryvnias (approximately 8 million rubles), which were used to purchase the equipment and supplies necessary for the clinic.

You can register for the race until May 25 inclusive.

Carnival of running

Market Harborough, UK, June 11

raceharborough.co.uk

Starting at Market Harborough, Leicestershire, this race runs through small English villages and idyllic trails. The event takes place on the same day as the annual city carnival, where God himself ordered to go after the competition. Among the participants are both experienced athletes who are able to cope with a half marathon and a distance of 10 km, as well as those who have just started to get involved in running (a 1.6 km route is intended for them).

Part of the money earned from registration fees will be donated to the local non-profit organization The Squires Effect. She supports several hospices and charitable foundations for children and adolescents that help fight addictions, cancer and heart disease. In addition, anyone can raise money to help any other fund: to do this, you need to inform the organizers about your desire, create a profile on the JustGiving or VirginMoneyGiving service and use the competition as a platform for collecting donations.

You can register for the race until June 5 inclusive.

Take a hike

Townsville, Australia, June 12

takeahike.org.au

“Your support today can change a child’s life forever,” says Take A Hike, hinting that running on Sunday morning is an easy way to help those in need. The organizers of the event want to raise awareness of the needs of children with autism and raise $ 10,000 for the non-profit AEIOU Foundation, which specializes in their problems. One in every 100 children in Australia is diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, and it is a colossal task to help each of them.

At the same time, anyone can contribute to the best of their strengths and abilities. So, the organizers of the race recommend covering the distance of 10.5 km at a leisurely pace, pretending that you have gone on a regular walk. 21 km is suitable for trained half marathon runners, 42 km - only for seasoned athletes. At the finish line, all participants and guests will have a barbecue party, where everyone will have the opportunity to celebrate their sporting achievements and the fact of their involvement in providing a better life for children with autism.

You can register for the events until June 12 inclusive.

MuckFest MS

New Jersey, USA, June 25

Another frivolous event on a serious occasion. MS Society is a charitable organization that raises funds to fight multiple sclerosis. She also initiated the creation of a series of charitable mud races with obstacles, this year such fun starts will be held in 11 cities of the United States at once. Where exactly you want to fall face down in the mud - San Francisco in October, Detroit in August, New Jersey in June - can be selected on the event website. The organizers promise that at the end of the 5-kilometer route you will not get tired of running, but of smiles and laughter, because “it's mucking awesome”. The program also includes mud yoga and Pilates as a warm-up before the start. A counter on the MuckFest MS website reports that this initiative has raised $ 23,239,353 in support of people with multiple sclerosis.

You can register for the race both in advance and on the day of the event.

Race Against Cancer

Singapore, July 3

raceagainstcancer.org.sg

No one should fight cancer alone - an idea that the organizers of this charity run want to spread as widely as possible. The Race Against Cancer team invites everyone to cover the distance of 5, 10 and 15 kilometers. The route of the race runs through a picturesque park on the southeast coast of Singapore. Jogging along the sea has its inherent advantages: in addition to the excellent view, the refreshing breeze will not let you go crazy from the heat. This race is suitable for those who have long wanted to conquer a serious distance, but are still not sure that they will be able to meet the time. The organizers of Race Against Cancer have allocated two and a half hours for 15 km, so you can even cover the route on foot.

All funds raised from the race will go to support The Singapore Cancer Society, a charitable foundation with over 50 years of history that supports cancer patients at all stages of the disease. The organizing team also encourages everyone who cares to share their cancer stories; some of them are posted on the race website.

You can register for the race until May 30 inclusive.

Bubble run

Washington, USA, August 13

Foam. Running. A party. Participants are promised 5 km of running, dancing and unbridled fun. Throughout the route, athletes will be doused with a huge amount of multi-colored foam. The organizers warn that they are not sure whether the participants will like the foam, but they certainly do not doubt its safety.

It is important to clarify that "Bubble Run" is not a competition, but primarily an opportunity to get positive emotions and do a good deed by donating money to local charitable foundations. It is hard to disagree: hardly anyone will be able to show outstanding sports results in "soapy" conditions. The initiative also reminds all runners that running is not only about technique and records, but also about having fun.

If you have not planned to visit Washington this summer, do not be discouraged. Until the end of 2016, such foam races will be held in 38 cities in the United States - from Portland to New York. As for the aid itself, the organizers of the Washington race are still choosing which foundation to help this year. But this issue has already been resolved, for example, in Richmond and Duluth: there the funds raised will be donated to organizations that support teenagers from single-parent families and children with autism.

You can register for the race both in advance and on the day of the event.

An option for those who are of the opinion that August is the best month for summer vacations. If you plan to spend this time in Malaysia, take a closer look at the charity run "Frost The Trail", which will be held in the capital of the country. There are two distances to choose from: 8 km - individual - and a 20 km relay, designed for a team of four athletes. The route of the race runs through the surroundings of the local botanical garden. Google's pictures show that the park is a great place to run and take selfies (if you're taking a break), so make sure you fully charge your phone. All funds raised at the event will be donated to the non-profit organization Mercy Malaysia, which provides medical assistance to vulnerable populations in crisis situations.

You can register for the race until July 24th.

Chase the tiger

All over the world, all year round

run4tiger.com

An initiative for those whose heart aches for wildlife and its inhabitants. Two facts you need to know about Amur tigers. First, there are very few of them left; second, they run an average of 10–20 kilometers a day. WWF enthusiasts have hung a GPS sensor on one such tiger, and now any runner has the opportunity to compete with this graceful animal and at the same time help its relatives. Actually, in order to "catch up with the tiger", you do not need to go anywhere - you can test yourself even in the village with your grandmother, even in the park closest to your house.

The mechanics are simple: download the application, accept the conditions of the competition (let's say, run 17 kilometers) and try to fulfill them. Otherwise, you will have to donate at least two dollars to the tigers. In the process, the tiger becomes your real running rival. There are days when he is lazy, just like us, and only runs 10 km. In general, if you lose in this dispute, it will not be offensive, but you will definitely do a good deed. A win-win situation.
