FOR THE HEADING "WARDROBE" we photograph beautifully, distinctively or oddly dressed people in their favorite things and ask them to tell stories related to them. This week our heroine is the founder of Picls Sveta Mueller.
Basically, everything that I brought to the shooting, I would have put on fifteen years ago to school. Little has changed in taste, except that there have become fewer of some completely protesting and kitsch things - along the way, I lost all courage. I remember about when I began to carefully select clothes - at the age of thirteen. My mother sews very well, so all my wildest ideas were implemented as quickly as possible - even before something like this appeared on the local market. In general, my mother was my superpower back then. She even promptly sewed me a leather skirt like Britney Spears in the video "Born to Make You Happy" just at the time when the video was just starting to play on MTV. You can imagine how cool it seemed then!
In my small town there was one big friendly company - breakers, guys with guitars (just like in Helen and the Guys - there was even a garage for rehearsals) and football fans (these guys were always the most beautiful in their scarves and polos). This all adds up to the fact that we girls rarely dressed in any particular style: from hip-hop we took wide pants and tops, from rockers - shabby turtlenecks and jeans, from pop culture - something dubious and casual. I still love all this very much, and over time, only the approach to shopping and the cost of the things themselves have changed. Probably, I’ll hardly go to second-hand or for vintage, simply because I burned out - while I was studying at the university, most of my things were from there.
For the last six years I have been making all purchases on the Internet, and this has partly determined the specifics of my business now. Picls is focused on fashion / lifestyle e-commerce, and I am very good at this, because I am on the side of the agile seller and on the side of the nerdy buyer at the same time. In every large online store, I have a wishlist, where all the assortment I like is stored and waiting for a collapse in prices or special offers. At full cost, I can only buy a bag.
Stine Goya Jacket, All Saints T-shirt, Rag & Bone Jeans, Kate Spade Shoes, Fiancé Jewelry Bracelet, Céline Glasses
Stine Goya's jacket is about five years old, made of some very successful fabric and with foam shoulder pads - it doesn't wrinkle or get dirty. Initially, it was a suit, there are still the same striped trousers, but since the Scandinavian XS tends to M, then I did not dare to order trousers. Kate Spade patent ankle boots are one of my favorite pairs of shoes, they have a very comfortable last, you can safely run all day. Well, and the heel is very beautiful - whatever you put on, everything will look cool.
All Saints Jacket, Ringspun Top, Wildfox Pants, Spalwart Sneakers, choker Aytaraks
The top is a gift from a friend from New York and was once a sweatshirt with long sleeves. It is indestructible: the path from a sweatshirt to a cut-off T-shirt took ten years and to this day every patch, embroidery or print looks like new on it. Has not faded, has not rolled, although he survived all my travels in Asia, when things are washed in dubious laundries and damp from moisture. Flared fleece sweatpants are one of my coziest pants. They are stretch, and you can easily adjust the length of the leg - to the floor or shorter, if you feel sorry for getting dirty.
Kris Van Assche sweater, Rag & Bone jeans, Michael Kors boots, Alexander Wang backpack
I found a man's sweater with a high neck by chance when I was looking for a gift for a friend. Actually, I didn't think for a long time - it is insanely beautiful, but it weighs a whole ton and takes up half a cabinet. Actually, I have a lot of things for men - mostly the same big sweaters and T-shirts. I really love this model of a backpack from Wang and initially wanted to buy it in a medium size. But since you often need to carry a laptop to work meetings, I had to take a large one - and so I go with this bag almost every day.
Wood Wood raincoat, Uniqlo down jacket, Lava T-shirt, H&M x Alexander Wang pants, Spalwart sneakers, Céline glasses
Wood Wood has a cool raincoat, but, as it turned out, does not particularly like moisture - the first rain bubbled up the entire glued lining. Not so noticeable, but somehow you usually don't expect a catch from Wood Wood. Leather sportswear is the best buy from that collaboration, like sweatpants, but like leather ones, so they look cool and appropriate everywhere.
Alexander Wang sweater, Rag & Bone jeans, Acne Studios sandals, COS bracelet
Here I gathered all my pain from impulsive purchases: this sweater should have been equipped with a machine from the pellets, it generates them at some fantastic speed, and I think I will soon shave it down to holes. But while it is beautiful and intact, I wear it quite often.
I tried to actively sell Acne Studios sandals at one time. Because of the perforation for the laces, they corny cut their legs. We joked with my friends that in them, in principle, you can walk to a taxi and go to the cinema - you still have to sit there for an hour and a half. Then I somehow skillfully laced them up, and now you can even go out somewhere in them. Not for long.
Golden Goose T-shirt, jeans
Cheap Monday, Maison Margiela sandals, Alexander Wang bag
This is my daily routine, only from shoes, more often simple flat sandals or sneakers. I bought jeans in a large Cheap Monday hangar in Copenhagen - this model is generally weird, since my size sat like tight breeches, but three sizes larger were just right. In general, I am a man-jeans, I have about twenty different pairs for all occasions. And, it seems to me, take all the jeans out of my wardrobe, I will start dulling very much in the morning, since I am an absolute layman in something more inventive.
Golden Goose T-shirt, Skirt & Shoes - Opening Ceremony, Unlabelled Jacket
I bought the skirt while working at Trends Brands, when you could still find it there. The entire warehouse always went through the photo department before things went on sale, which is very convenient. I don’t remember the jacket anymore - whether it’s just from a second-hand, or from Urban Outfitters.
High heels are both my love and an eternal dilemma, because I'm still a little bit of a kid. But how beautiful! Some stand in boxes for three years and wait, and new ones are regularly bought. But if you need to be a beauty, I know which shelf in the closet to take a pie from.
Alexander Wang jeans, t-shirt
no label, Rolex watches
Wang, it seems to me, has the best jeans - they are of the same ideal density, when they do not stake, and do not hang like a chambri, and do not stretch like a stupid stretch. Wide jeans are my special love: I remember my first such jeans were given to me by a boy of about sixteen, these were Levi's dimensionless anti-forms, in which a couple of three people could drown, now they still look great, I carry them at home or to the dacha … And these look a little narrower and look more decent, but of course I won't go to a business meeting in this one.
Jeans Alexander Wang, Raf Simons x Fred Perry polo shirt with COS belt
Raf Simons x Fred Perry is something beautiful. It's a pity that everything is masculine and you have to look for size 36 - I found it on Petrovka in Fred Perry. There was a story with jeans: in short, I had to order them to a friend's address in Riga, since there was no delivery to Russia, well, and I got to some ridiculous tax. Summing up all the expenses, I realized that I could just as well have bought them here at their full cost.
I AM Studio dress, Prada boots
I AM Studio is our client, and I saw this dress on one of his shootings. It is made of some insanely beautiful velvet with an uneven and rather tough texture, similar to the grandmother setting the table on holidays. In general, in the collection it is fringed, but I wanted the usual one. It was nice to know that one of the usual small sizes was made. Shoes, despite all their massiveness, are very comfortable. And the model is like that - both in a feast and in the world, I can only go to them for a week.
I AM Studio suit, Brixton hat, L'Artigiana Viareggina mules, Prada glasses
I really love the sea and the heat, even the one that is now in Moscow, I can endure absolutely fine. The Brixton hat is my favorite, Brixton has all the class hats - some can be found in Kixbox, but there are mostly male models. In general, both the suit and the hat are more likely for traveling to the sea. Hat transportation in the cabin of an airplane is, of course, another adventure, it manages to infuriate you even before the beach. But then I’m glad that I didn’t take the usual cap instead.I also have a very, very wrinkled Costume National hat, I love it just because you can just throw it into a backpack and put on the same wrinkled hat, it looks great.
