NikeLab has unveiled a new collection of travel sportswear co-created with British designer Kim Jones, art director for Louis Vuitton's mens line. The collaboration is inspired by a passion for travel and sports. The windbreakers included in the collection are made with a minimum of seams from a lightweight waterproof material and fold comfortably, which should simplify preparation for the trip. In addition to the men's and women's jackets, the collection includes sneakers reminiscent of the classic 1990s Zoom Flight 95, but with a shoe like a modern Air Max. They, like the windbreaker, come with special bags for transportation.
“Inspired by Nike's retro design icons, I wanted to create a very contemporary collection that is relevant to today's young people,” Jones said. “The color combinations were inspired by the classic original Air Max models, and we also allowed ourselves to experiment a bit and look to the future.” The NikeLab website says that the designer is associated with the brand with touching memories: Jones has been collecting Nike sneakers since he was 12 and now owns a large collection.
The shooting of the video, representing the collaboration, was attended by the British heptathlete Katharina Johnson-Thompson, as well as the Bulgarian tennis player Grigor Dimitrov. The apparel and trainers will be available on 23 July on the brand's website and in select stores.
