Last weekend, San Diego hosted the 49th Comic-Con festival, which can be safely called the most important annual event in the world of pop culture. Representatives of film studios spoke at the festival, who spoke about their plans for the future and showed the public new trailers for the upcoming films of the next season.
Warner Bros. presented the first trailer for the Wonder Woman movie starring Gal Gadot. The action of the picture unfolds during the First World War and tells the story of the formation of the character: the princess of the Amazons Diana turns into a superheroine in order to resolve the global conflict and save the world from death. "Wonder Woman" was directed by Patty Jenkins, the author of "Monster," for which Charlize Theron won an Oscar. The premiere will take place in the summer of 2017.
The studio also unveiled the first Justice League trailer, in which the heroes of the DC comics universe gather under the leadership of Batman (Ben Affleck) to confront the powerful villain Darkseid together. The star-studded crew includes Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Cyborg and Aquaman: judging by the trailer, the film will be not only epic, but also funny. The Justice League will premiere in November 2017.
At Comic-Con, the first trailer for the new movie about King Kong was shown, in which Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson played (another important news of the festival is associated with her name: Marvel Studios will shoot a film about the superheroine Captain Marvel with Larson in the title role). The movie "King Kong: Skull Island" is set in the 70s: the expedition arrives on the island where the legendary gorilla was once caught in order to find the missing brother of the protagonist. The world premiere of the film will take place in May 2017.
Starz Channel presented a trailer for the American Gods series based on the novel by science fiction writer Neil Gaiman, in which characters from ancient myths and new deities invented by the writer, embodying manifestations of modern life and technology, such as the mass media and the Internet, act. The main character of the book, a mysterious protagonist named Shadow, who finds himself in the epicenter of the coming battle of the gods, is played by Ricky Whittle (TV series "The Hundred").
Another big premiere next year is the fourth season of the British TV series "Sherlock", starring Benedict Cumberbatch: the heroes are in anxious anticipation of some terrifying event, which, as the video says, "will question everything they know "And threatens" everyone they love. " In the trailer, the seemingly deceased Moriarty, played by Andrew Scott, reappears. The new episode is set to premiere on January 2, 2017.
Cumberbatch can be admired in the new trailer for Marvel's Doctor Strange, a film about a magic-wielding hero - a former neurosurgeon. For an actor, this is the first experience in a superhero movie, but judging by the trailer, he plays the savior of the world no worse than characters with a difficult fate in classic plays and TV series. Doctor Strange will be released worldwide on November 4th.
Also at Comic-Con presented a new trailer for "Suicide Squad", which will be released very soon - in early August. Warner Bros. announced that they were going to make a cartoon about the supervillain Harley Quinn and Batman (in May it became known that Margot Robbie would play Harley Quinn in a full-length film dedicated to this heroine).
