Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton has announced the launch of The Child in Mind, a podcast dedicated to child mental health, with 20 minutes each episode and hosted by BBC Radio 4 announcer Claudia Hammond. Middleton is the patroness of the Anna Freud National Children's Psychoanalytic Center, which initiated this project.

“While working with organizations that support children and their families, I have learned over and over again that the best thing we can do is help a child with [psychological] difficulties early on,” Middleton said. - William and I are confident that we will immediately turn to specialists for help if George or Charlotte needs it. One in three adults still admit that they are uncomfortable with seeking help in dealing with children's mental health problems. Any parent will no doubt call a doctor if their child has a fever, but children who need psychological help cannot get it because adults who are responsible for their health are afraid to go to a specialist. It shouldn't be that way."

Lately, the British royal family has often turned to the topic of mental health: Princes William and Harry recently starred with Kate Middleton in a video promoting self-care, and Prince Harry spoke out against the stigmatization of mental disorders at a Heads Together event.

The episodes of The Child in Mind podcast are available on the center's website, iTunes and SoundCloud.
