The Blum & Poe Gallery in Los Angeles has opened an exhibition of Kanye West, which included only one installation - a huge bed with wax dolls of 12 celebrities who previously appeared in the scandalous video for the composition "Famous". The opening of the exhibition was attended by West's wife Kim Kardashian (hence the surreal footage in which Kardashian is looking at his wax copy with interest), and West himself preferred to communicate with visitors to the exhibition via video chat.
Recall that the clip, stylized as a voyeur video, was released at the end of June and caused a controversial reaction from the public: as Lena Dunham explained in her post, the artistic method chosen by West inevitably evokes associations with manifestations of a culture of violence. West himself, apparently, put another idea into his video - the rapper talks about the phenomenon of celebrity and the reasons why people become famous. Also, the clip and the installation with a bed created on its basis are a reference to the painting by American artist Vincent Desiderio "The Dream".
