We are constantly monitoring new promising designers and worthy brands in Russia. It is hard not to notice that over the past year there have been a lot of such people. Interesting basic things, leather jackets, delicate dresses (including minimalistic and wedding ones), fine jewelry, pleasant knitwear - we try to select brands with different specializations under the heading "New Brand". The best representatives of the wave of young designers are on our list.
Shirts, tops and coats Simple Forms: Russian minimalism
Minimalism, practicality, simplicity - the tag cloud that can be used to characterize Simple Forms. The brand team is inspired by the ideas of constructivism and the work of the Bauhaus architects. Dress-shirts, intricately cut sundresses, flared skirts, jackets with patch pockets and sweatshirts with geometric patterns - all the brand's items are comfortable to wear and can be easily combined with each other and any other basic items.
Bats: Rebellious leather jackets from St. Petersburg
The Bats brand is dedicated to a very specific category of wardrobe - leather jackets. Its creator, Maria Kalashnikova, worked as a graphic designer before launching Bats and at the same time was fond of tailoring. According to Kalashnikova, it was the profession that gave her the ability to think conceptually. First of all, the philosophy of the brand is connected with the founder's passion for motorcycle culture and travel, the symbol of which is the leather jacket.
MyScream: Delicate outfits of a young Russian brand
Three years ago, then still seventeen-year-old student Lera Nikolskaya founded the brand of T-shirts and hoodies with cheerful inscriptions #GOODNESSMARKET: the girl confessed her love for kitsch, simplicity and primitiveness in fashion. Now Nikolskaya decided to prove herself in a more serious way - she launched a new brand MyScream, the first collection of which included a variety of things - from pajama trousers to dresses.
Bluebox: Delicate Gemstone Jewelry
The Bluebox brand is developing in two directions. First, Bluebox Choice is a series of small jewelry brands with people behind them who inspire the designer. Most often, these are American brands, which are famous for their style, creative freedom, the ability to combine incongruous, and the Japanese, who are close to the creator of Bluebox in spirit for their sophistication, perfectionism and perfection of execution. The second direction is the Bluebox brand itself, for which the designer herself comes up with and creates jewelry.
MIR Stores: Oversized sweaters and cardigans from Moscow
The name MIR stands for Made In Russia, and the brand was founded by the graduates of Moscow State University and the Higher School of Economics - Katya and Alexey. They immediately decided to abandon seasonal collections and release individual items under serial numbers. MIR Stores is gaining popularity precisely as a brand of knitted sweaters, although the guys have far-reaching plans - to create versatile items that can be combined into a complete wardrobe.
The Sea: A fresh take on casual wear
More is a Vladivostok-based casual wear brand founded in 2015 by three friends: Svetlana Gruzdova, Nikolai Afonchenko and Denis Makarov. They make laconic, very modern clothes for every day, inspired by the atmosphere and the place in which they work and live. They grew up in a seaside town, where everything is connected with the sea, so it didn't take long to think about the name of the brand.
Sand Dune: Laconic things made from natural fabrics
Dasha Filatova, creator of Sand Dune, worked for several years at the Condé Nast publishing house as a fashion editor and at a multi-brand store, where she served as art director. Six months ago, Dasha decided to enter the University of the Arts London, but in order to pass the competitive interview she had to submit a creative work: “I realized that I had long wanted to make a clothing brand, all my ideas had already been formed, and I decided, that it's time to implement them."
Braventru: A brand for sustainable consumption
The budding designer Alina Kovaleva, the creator of the Braventru brand, whose name is an abbreviation of the phrase "Be Brave and True", advocates abandoning the mass market with its millions of circulations and the pace of conveyor production. Her audience is people who advocate rational consumption and intelligent production.
fy: r: Moscow Scandinavian clothing brand
fy: r - simple, but very cute clothes for every day. The brand was founded by the spouses Sveta Salnikova and Lyosha Kukhta. Now the couple has four full-fledged collections for which one can immediately note the integrity of their approach - these are free, non-restrictive things, both monochrome and with interesting, but not pretentious prints.
Antrerobe: Moscow brand of wedding and evening wear
Finding a bridal outfit is a real headache, especially if you are the type of person who prioritizes convenience. At the same time, non-standard options like pajamas or velvet suits are also not to everyone's liking. In February 2016, another option appeared - to turn to the young Russian brand Antrerobe, founded by Galya Chepkina and Masha Kubasova, for help. During their studies, the girls were looking for their niche - they wanted to focus on the functional component of clothing, and not make "just another brand of beautiful outfits for the inhabitants of the metropolis."
BStatement: T-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts and other basic items
Simple but pleasant to the body and well-tailored T-shirts, cozy sweatpants that are not ashamed to wear to work - it would seem that every second brand has a lot of such basic things. But once it gets down to business, search turns into a problem. Uniqlo, American Apparel, Oh, My are the usual choices, but even their assortment is not enough for everyone who loves basic knitwear. And now another brand has appeared, which is worth adding to this list.
