On October 14, Minsk will host a meeting “Mom for a mammologist”, timed to coincide with two important events - International Mother's Day and International Day Against Breast Cancer, which are celebrated on October 14 and 15. The organizers promise that it will be "a useful, warm and lovely evening with a lot of important information on the topic": the program includes speeches by a breast cancer specialist and an ultrasound specialist, psychological training, and a conversation with women struggling with breast cancer. Also, the participants of the meeting will have the opportunity to do an ultrasound scan for free right at the event.
If you do not live in Minsk, we advise you to take the idea of "Mom to a mammologist" into service and talk with mothers and grandmothers about breast cancer, as well as go for an examination together. We recently talked about risk factors and disease prevention. In order to protect yourself from breast cancer, it is important to have regular examinations by a mammologist and do mammograms - this is the only way to detect the disease in the early stages, when it can be successfully cured.
In October, the month of the fight against breast cancer, themed events are held all over the world, and famous buildings and monuments are highlighted in pink. Free examinations are being organized in Russia: Philips and the Women's Health charity program offer women free mammograms or ultrasounds as part of the #Your event in seventeen cities, Avon is holding the Pink Ribbon campaign in seven cities.
