The Guardian reports that Kanye West has issued an ultimatum to the organizers of the Grammy Awards: the rapper has announced that he will not appear at the ceremony if Frank Ocean, who released the albums Blonde and Endless in August, is not included in the list of nominees.
“The album I've listened to the most this year is the Frank Ocean album. I tell you as it is: if his records do not get into any nominations, I will not come to the Grammy. Artists should work together against this shit,”West said during his concert in Oakland. The rapper has previously expressed his admiration for Ocean's work: after the release of "Blonde" and "Endless", West encouraged radio stations to play songs from them at least 10 times a day.
The official list of nominees for the music award is due to be released on December 8, however, Billboard sources have already indicated that both Ocean albums will not be considered by the jury for the award. According to the publication, this is due to non-compliance with the formal requirements for participation in the competition - including deadlines.
