A short list of nominees has been published on the website of the Kandinsky Prize, the main award in contemporary Russian art.

In total, nine people apply for the award in three categories: Evgeny Granilshchikov (exhibition of video works “Untitled (after defeats)”), Andrey Kuzkin (multimedia project “Right to Life” about the artist's biography) will fight for the award in the nomination “Project of the Year” and the Blue Soup group with the video Cascade.

Finalists in the nomination “Young Artist. Project of the Year”, three artists became - Anya Zholud with the project“Worse Than Nothing”, Polina Kanis with the video“Smena”and Taus Makhacheva with the project“Untitled-2”(video documentation of the performance performed by the superheroine alter-ego of the artist).

For the award in the category “Scientific work. History and Theory of Contemporary Art "are claimed by Georgy Kiesewalter (" The Turning Eighties in the Unofficial Art of the USSR. Collection of Materials "), Victor Misiano (" Vinogradov and Dubossarsky ") and Alec Epstein (" The Artist Oscar Rabin: Sealed Fate ").

This year, the jury for the Kandinsky Prize includes Zelfira Tregulova, director of the Tretyakov Gallery, Marina Loshak, director of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, Olga Sviblova, director of the Multimedia Art Museum, and other experts. Winners in each category will be announced at an awards ceremony in December.
