Designer Marc Jacobs announced an open online casting for beauty bloggers: the designer posted a video on Instagram with drag queen Milk (a former employee of the Marc Jacobs brand), who spoke about the competition. “#CastMeMarc is back! This time we're looking for someone who's going to be a Marc Jacobs sensation on social media - maybe it's you? Post a video on Instagram where you tell Mark what inspires you in the field of beauty and fashion and why he should choose you,”announces Milk.
In a commentary on the post, Jacobs explained that applications are being accepted until December 5th. The designer will then personally select ten finalists who will travel to New York for the final casting. The three winners will star in a video series for Marc Jacobs.
The #CastMeMarc tag appeared in 2014, when Jacobs announced an open casting of models for filming in his new advertising campaign - then the search for new faces for the brand seemed like something unusual, but in four years, Instagram castings were adopted by large brands, and novice designers. In 2014, 70 thousand people took part in the Marc Jacobs competition.
