I spend my rejuvenation money on a ticket to Denpasar
About skin care
My skin care is extremely simple: cleansing, moisturizing or nourishing plus a mask and scrub once a week. Until the birth of the child, I strictly adhered to this simple scheme and, on the whole, was satisfied. But motherhood practically deprived me of my free time, and, feeling sad, I gradually gave up the scrub and mask. In vain. Breastfeeding for up to three years, seven long winters in Asia without daily Sanskrin did their dirty work. The skin has imperceptibly turned into dehydrated and dull, and I also imperceptibly turned 33.
I was horrified and immediately returned the masks (now two a week: nourishing and moisturizing with hyaluronic acid) and peeling (switched from scrubs to products with acids). Cosmetologists hint at botox and mesotherapy, but for now I pretend that I do not understand what they are about, and spend the money set aside for rejuvenation on a ticket to Denpasar. A trip to Bali perfectly relaxes the muscles of the face. Sometimes I go for a massage, but, unfortunately, Moscow prices are very far from Balinese ones, and I allow myself this tactile joy only when I have extra money.
Another important point is packaging design. I cannot use a cream if it is in an ugly jar. Products that are pleasing to the eye are sometimes prohibitively expensive, and I am just one of those who can pay the last 8 thousand for a cream. True, the last. Therefore, I go to such self-deception: I figure out how much I will use the product, divide the amount by the amount of time, and it turns out that I am quite ready to spend a thousand something a month on beauty.
I don't keep more than one bottle of eau de toilette on my shelf. The scent should be associated with a certain stage of life: my whirlwind romances fall on amber and vetiver perfumes, my pregnancy was with spices and a Christmas tree, and now I am languidly sad under the “rose drowned in wine”. For long trips, I always choose a new scent, which then connects me to the country. Olfactory memories are always the strongest.
Once in Paris, I bought myself an eau de toilette from an unknown perfumer and fell in love with it so much that then on Facebook I found a girl who came up with these fragrances. For many years she has been sending me bottles from Canada with touching handwritten notes, in which she tells me stories from her life, similar to mine. I never disclose the name of the brand, and I want to believe that I alone in Russia smells of this perfume. I tried to cheat on a Canadian perfumer a couple of times with other selective perfumes, but almost all of these wonderful fragrances in the final accords on my skin smell like some kind of cheap perfume. The exception is Byredo: I try it in turns and they don't disappoint.
I understand perfectly well that sleep, proper food, sports, plenty of water and walking help the best of all creams. I would love to screw something about spinach smoothie in the morning, but Katya Makarova and HLS are words from different languages. I am genuinely happy when I drink less than five glasses of tea a day. I would really like to get rid of the habit of eating croutons with sugar at 11 pm - while I work on myself.
I only paint eyelashes, sometimes lips and very rarely apply tone. I used to love blush - they instantly give a fresh look - but now I am too lazy to buy them, and I use lipstick for this purpose. In moments of special courage, I do monomake-up only with lipstick, however, no one except me notices it.My inner crazy empress tells me to buy gold eyeshadows, glue flies and glitter bruises, but I almost never do that.
For five years I was a media evangelist for L'Occitane and for another two years I wrote a beauty column for Aeroflot Style. When it became clear that I could not go beyond “nourishes-moisturizes-smoothes”, I became unbearably bored. Since then, I have not been interested in most of the materials on cosmetics. Nevertheless, I am subscribed to Beauty Insider - I respect them for their live broadcasts from operating rooms and the Beauty Myths column. I also really like to read all the texts about perfumery by Ksenia Golovanova.
