The Right to Miracle Charitable Foundation for Preterm Infants has opened a hotline - now families from all over Russia can get advice from a psychologist, contact medical institutions and specialists, learn about social benefits, patients' rights and get advice. The hotline number is * 7890, it works from Monday to Saturday from 09:00 to 19:00 Moscow time, the call is free for all Russian mobiles.
According to the Right to a Miracle Foundation, more than 110 thousand premature babies are born in Russia every year (every tenth child is born prematurely). Modern medicine allows you to take care of the majority of babies born prematurely - even those weighing less than a kilogram, but premature babies often experience health problems. They account for 60–70% of early neonatal mortality, 50% of neurological diseases, including cerebral palsy, visual and hearing impairments, and severe chronic lung diseases.
“The premature birth of a child, for obvious reasons, is a complete surprise for parents, who are completely unprepared for this situation - neither informationally, nor psychologically,” said Natalya Zotkina, director of the Right to a Miracle Foundation. “The launch of the hotline to support families with premature babies is an important and long-awaited event, to which we went together with families that faced a problem and did not understand how to live further.”
