Earl Blue, head of security firm VIP Protective Services, has accused Kevin Spacey of racism, according to the Daily Mail. The firm ensured the actor's safety during the filming of House of Cards in 2012 - according to Blue, Spacey refused to shake hands with his employees of African descent, never greeted them, made racist insults against them, and constantly checked the safety of his belongings with them. One of the incidents occurred while meeting the actor. “The filming manager wanted to introduce me and my employee to Spacey - he got out of the trailer, looked us down, shook hands with the police officer and left,” he recalls. “Once I wanted to greet him and held out my hand for a handshake - he didn’t even bother to shake my hand.” Despite the fact that the producers of the series were pleased with the work of VIP Protective Services, they did not renew the contract with them worth 1.1 million dollars. “After that I lost faith in myself and in my work. I wondered for months what I could have done wrong. And only then I realized that I was doing the right thing. I just dealt with a racist,”said Blue.
Netflix and the actor himself have not yet commented on the allegations. According to one of the sources of the Daily Mail, the contract was terminated for another reason - "after hacking the trailers of makeup artists and Kevin Spacey." Blue denies these charges.
