I'm in the theater
On September 27, Yandex Publishing House launched the “I am in the Theater” project, dedicated, in particular, to two major festivals; it will also host live broadcasts of the performances. Already there you can read material about the best theaters outside the capitals or instructions on how to choose a performance to your liking. The content is invented by critics known from other Internet media: Aleksey Kiselyov became the editor-in-chief, Anton Khitrov became his deputy; Vita Khlopova, the creator of the No fixed points choreography site, has also joined the team.
Yekaterina Dementyeva, curator of Yandex Publishing House, tells how and why the project was invented: “'I'm in the theater' is a media about what to watch, who to know and how to understand modern theater. I am not an expert at all, I have many questions for the modern theater. And Yandex users have a million times more questions. This is the main reason why we did it: to understand, understand, discuss. One of our materials explains why go to the theater when there are games, movies and TV shows. And also - is it true in the new theater everyone is naked and swearing, immersive theater is a low genre or not, is it worth giving theater tickets to a colleague, how do ballerinas live in 2018, how modern choreographers influenced Drake's videos, why make-up artists respect Robert Wilson and how to stage a puppet show at home. We proceed from the premise that there are no bad questions, our task is to write, film, somehow formulate good answers."
