The Swedish mass market Monki, together with the Better Cotton Initiative, a non-profit organization, presented a technology for the production of organic cotton, which is obtained from seeds that have not been treated with pesticides or other chemical fertilizers.
Typically, plant-based cotton can be recycled, but growing it consumes so many resources that it has many negative consequences for the environment.
“This is a step towards achieving our 2030 goal of supporting only sustainable materials production,” said Brand Managing Director Jenny Dahlin-Hansson.
In addition, in the fall of 2018, all Monki stores will increase to 15% the discount on the next purchase, which can be obtained by handing over unnecessary items for recycling.
The brand also presented a lookbook for the new fall-winter 2018 collection.
