The Samokat Publishing House publishes a comic strip Norwegian authors Martha Breen and illustrator Jenni Yurdal “Freedom, Equality, Sisterhood. 150 years of women's struggle for their rights”. This is a story about the difficult path of feminism from the beginning of the 19th century to the present day: from the time when women could not control their own bodies, to the #MeToo movement. In his homeland in Norway, the book was published in March last year, and its circulation was sold out in a month; then it was included in the list of the best children's books of 2018 according to The Guardian, and now the rights to publish the comic have been sold in twenty countries. True, in some of them the Norwegian original was censored, but in the Russian version all the strips of the book were preserved. We are publishing an excerpt that tells the story of the first female contraceptives and the struggle for women's right to abortion.
