FOR THE HEADING "WARDROBE" we photograph beautifully, distinctively or oddly dressed people wearing their favorite things and ask them to tell stories related to them. This week our heroine is a photographer and co-founder of the creative duo BJUFF Yulia Tatarchenko.

It's important for meso that the clothes are comfortable and not restrict movement: on set, I often crawl on the floor, so I choose things that are not afraid to get dirty. I have a set of uniforms for work: these are three identical trousers, shorts and the same number of T-shirts for the summer and three pieces of black trousers and sweatshirts for the winter. Favorite shoes are light-colored sneakers. If I dress up, then in my free time.
As a child, I played sports, and as a teenager I skated. I think this shaped my taste in clothes: I talked mainly with guys, and their style interested me more than dresses and cosmetics. Until now, I find suitable things more often in the men's department. At home, I was influenced by my dad's minimalist approach, the love of uniforms from him. If there is something unchanging, then it's a red jumper and dark blue Levi's 501 dads. From business trips, he always brought several identical sweaters and the same model of jeans.
I do not like to litter the space, so if I stop wearing a thing, then I give it to the one who needs it more. Brands do not interest me, quality and what kind of clothes feel more important to me. I do not buy something that has not really sunk into my soul - I believe that my thing will find me.
Nike T-shirt, COS pants, Rachel Comey boots
And something like this looks like my summer uniform. Despite the fact that I wallow a lot on set, I still like to wear a white top and a black bottom. Orthodox Jews believe that before God you should always be neat, hence the outfits “white top, black bottom”. I like this thought.
Mug Ecoffee Cup
I try to maintain a sustainable lifestyle. Since I like to take away coffee, I use a reusable mug.
Army jacket, bruki and shirt - COS, Rachel Comey boots
In this outfit I feel very light and airy, but, unfortunately, it wrinkles a lot. In fact, this is not a jacket, but the lining of an American army park. The parka has long gone into retirement, but the lining is still with me, it is very comfortable in it - I like both its silhouette and the fact that it is quilted. I ordered sneakers from Australia about six years ago, they are very comfortable, but they do not look too sporty.
Rings -tsand vintage (left to right)
I found the first ring in a junk shop in Munich. The second was given by a friend - we have the same ones. A ring with a spicy engraving inside is also a gift.
Sweatshirt and sneakers - Nike, shortsfrom Bali, Uniqlo socks
I had these shorts from Weekday - they were perfect for me. I carried them so hard that they became transparent. Last winter, when we lived in Bali, I bought different fabrics, took these shorts and took them to the atelier. There they made me several pieces of them in different colors. Now I have a strategic reserve.
Unknown brand jacket, pdress& Other Stories, COS top, Rachel Comey boots
I bought the dress three years ago in Berlin. I lived there for a couple of years and sometimes on my way home from university I ran into & Other Stories. Once I came across this dress there - it hung in a single copy and was waiting for me. I immediately fell in love: I like that the skirt is so long that the dress seems modest - but if you push the jacket's hem open, the bare sides open. And strictly, and playfully at the same time.
I bought it last year in Singapore. I was fascinated by their color - especially the yellow palm.
Petit Bateau raincoat, Uniqlo shirt, American Apparel jeans, Common Projects sneakers
A raincoat from a children's store for a boy of thirteen years old - I fell in love with this thing at first sight. I've worn it mercilessly for six years now, and it's still like new.I ordered jeans on the Internet, I don’t wear them as often as I would like, due to the fact that they are quite tight.
Diptyque Philosykos Oil
Found this scent last winter in Kuala Lumpur. It is very thin and lightweight.
Raincoat and vest - Uniqlo, trousers and gloves - COS, Puma x Han Kjøbenhavn sneakers, Ortlieb backpack
In cold weather, I try to dress in multi-layers - this way it keeps warm better and you can always adjust to the outside temperature. A raincoat with a vest for two has four large pockets, and this is very convenient: if I do not need to take a laptop or camera, I shove everything over them and go without a bag. I love it when my arms and back are free.
I bought sneakers for this winter, and they are already pretty worn out. Although white shoes are impractical for the winter, I love them so much that I am ready to wash them regularly. These sneakers fit perfectly on my foot, do not wobble, so I don't have droplets of dirt on the back of my trousers.
I bought a backpack as a present for my husband, but he was uncomfortable with fiddling with the fastener, so the thing migrated to me. I like that it is waterproof, so you can safely transport equipment.
I love to write everything down. If I entered it in my diary, I will definitely not forget it. This one has the perfect size to fit in a jacket pocket.
Sweatshirt and sneakers - Nike, COS pants, Calzedonia leggings
This is what my winter uniform looks like. I usually buy hoodies from the men's department at Nike, in size L or XL. I like that they are not fitted. I saw the trousers for the first time in the Moscow COS - I was struck by their uniforms, but I did not take them right away. A couple of weeks later I saw them again in Tel Aviv and could not help but buy. The pants are very wide, so I wear them with leggings: I like it when the leggings stick out a little from under the pants.
Vest Carhartt, fUniqlo shirt, COS trousers, Nike sneakers, IKEA string bag
In general, this is not a T-shirt, but a dress, but I shortened it to the desired length. The vest recently found me in St. Petersburg, hung in the store, the only one and in my size. Of course, I could not leave without him - after all, he is quilted, and what a color!
The string bag is always with me. In winter I carry purchases in it, and in summer I use it as a full-fledged bag.
Ring Avgvst Jewelry
Granted by my husband's grandmother.
Vintage vest, dress and shoes - COS
Even on the way from the university, I often passed a vintage shop with various cute things for the home. Clothes were usually not there. Most often I ran past, but once I saw this vest in the window - my heart beat faster, I decided to go in and find out the cost. When the hostess named the price of twenty euros, I realized that this was fate, and took it without hesitation. This is the only vintage piece in my wardrobe. The vest is very warm and pleasant to the touch, sometimes I wear it over a coat.
I liked the pleated dress. It is very comfortable, which is why I often wear it for shooting, where I need to look strict.
