About balance

My work is purely about reading and writing - I read a lot and write a lot - so most of the time I don't feel like a pretty twenty-seven-year-old girl, but a worm crawling on the bed with a laptop, trying to find a comfortable position. The longer I work on the text, the more intrusive the thought becomes that in addition to the bundles of neurons, I actually have a body that is busy with slow dying right now. Then I drop everything and sign up for a manicure, paint my lips, take a million flirtatious selfies - in general, I follow Marina Tsvetaeva's behest: "Know one thing: that tomorrow you will be old, // The rest, baby, forget it."

True, as soon as the "rest" is properly forgotten, I begin to feel stupid and useless - in the end, the understanding comes that the bundles of neurons are also not eternal, so I again open my laptop and go headlong into work (Marina Ivanovna in this sense was also highly inconsistent). For me, both poles are equally dear - of meanings and bodily living - because both reading smart books and buying new shadows, it seems to me, answer the same task - they help to realize who you are, why you are and how you are. In general, here I am for balance: the deeper the mind, the deeper the neckline.

About the relationship with the body

A few years ago, in order to look tolerable, you did not need absolutely anything - everything was given for nothing. Now the body is constantly busy with petty sabotage: any bad deed, as in boring fables, leads to bad consequences, and even the absence of such actions in itself no longer guarantees anything. By thirty, the incredible suddenly becomes clear: the skin and hair need special care, the muscles need constant physical activity, there is nothing to eat - and so on.

Already many times, out of habit, I pick up smaller clothes in the store, and then I perform dances in the fitting room, trying to squeeze into it all - and, ashamed, I hand over the things back. It is stupid to be upset or angry: the body changes and will change, revealing its complexity, fragility and need for care; you have to constantly remind yourself that the belly fold above your jeans also deserves love. My dream is to learn how to be a responsible body owner and not become the most boring person on earth.

About care and make-up

The principle of skin care I have is the same - moisturize or die. I have dry skin, which turns into very dry on winter evenings heated by a battery. Once I accidentally got to see a palmist, he looked at my palms cut with small lines and said that I had a wide outlook. And then I went to a dermatologist, he looked at my palms and said that I had xerosis. Due to the eternal lack of moisture, you have to constantly smear yourself with something from the top of your head to your heels.

I use cosmetics in an amateurish way: I don't really know how to do anything, but I constantly try to portray something. For good results, I probably lack knowledge and inquisitiveness - if something works fine and is adequate for the modest income of a literary critic, then most likely I will use this product until it is discontinued. I used to treat all the clever cosmetic jars-bottles very condescendingly, they say - what other primer for the eyelids, do you even know that we are all going to die? And now, on the contrary, with great respect - let me die, but at least draw normal arrows for myself.
