Dior Lolli'Glow

Peter Phillips spent several years getting used to the role of creative director of makeup for Dior - and achieved what became practically the incarnation of Christian Dior. Philips produces airy pastel collections that are easy to imagine as make-up analogs of “new look” dresses: a lot of radiance, bright accents, and a general doll-like look. The most entertaining figures in the Lolli'Glow collection did not reach us: blush, colored eyeliners and nail polishes were released only for the Asian market. But there is an opportunity to choose one of two eye shadow palettes in the colors of confectionery glaze or a beautiful highlighter - without glitter, but with an even noticeable shine. The main stake in the collection is on lip products: the brand has released new shades of the bestsellers Lip Glow and Lip Maximizer and offers to mix them.

Nicolas Degenne, the brand's permanent art director for make-up, knows how to come up with ingenious visual concepts - be it a case, the product itself or the selection of colors. The minimalist collection The Power of Color is built on a sudden balance of pink and orange - it includes two shades of blush, tangerine lip balm and red-orange lipstick. Perhaps the most interesting novelty is a double liner, which simultaneously works with eyeliner and cream shadows, drawing a thin line of one color at the ciliary edge, and covering the movable eyelid with a different shade. You need to get used to the technique, but both the product and the makeup look very interesting with it.

Lucia Pica, who has been managing makeup at Chanel for the third year, has completely changed the mood of seasonal collections - and exclusively for the better. Pica loves to devote limited editions to her travels and after a color visit to California (Travel Diary, 2017) and southern Italy (Neapolis, 2018) turned her attention to Asia. The collection, as always at Pica, draws the perfect full image, but not a lively Asian girl, but fantasies on the topic: wet, reflective skin (stick Baume Essentiel, which creates a soft glare without shine), bright powdered lips (Rouge Allure Liquid Powder, liquid matte lipstick with special effects), shiny nails (Le Vernis in two shades) and eyelids painted like a lacquer miniature (Les 9 Ombres eyeshadow palette).
Kiko Milano Waterflower Magic

Italians Kiko Milano usually love energetic color and shine, but they made the spring collection the most delicate and watercolor: a gradient on blush, pastel brushes and a general feeling of weightlessness. An interesting look is a foundation in drops, which promises the ability to vary the degree of coverage, and dense vinyl lip lacquers - such products traditionally work very well with Kiko Milano. The collection, by the way, includes not only makeup, but also some basic care: scrub, mask and cream with a radiant effect.

The famous brand specializing in care is actively developing its decorative line and makes it more successful and more successful every year.The spring collection came out much more fun than elegant Clarins usually have - the Glow 2 Go double-sided stick with a holographic highlighter and pink blush and the Ready In a Flash palette for eyes and eyebrows with a flirty, again holographic cap are especially good. In parallel, the brand launched a large collection of eye makeup - it includes Wonder Perfect Mascara 4D mascara, updated cream eyeshadow in three textures (including glitter) and waterproof pencils.

Everything is not easy for Korean brands, including the definition of the seasonality of collections - Be a Flower in Russia is declared as a spring limit, but the official website is silent about this. In any case, the beginners have a design that fits into the seasonal canons, and their purpose: the collection includes two basic, but not boringly composed eye shadow palettes and two cushions. The latest It’s Skin is positioned as a leveling base, but they sparkle like the most desperate highlighters - the brand offers to apply the product with generous strokes on all areas that reflect light, for the effect of moist healthy skin.

This time, the lover of large forms, François Nars, made the seasonal collection very small, but bright and vibrant - only three products, but all of them are interesting. The main star is the new Mosaic Glow Blush in the shade of Fireclay: a highlighter, bright coral blush and bronzer in one embossed palette, which it will even be a little pathetic to touch with a brush (but the pattern, apparently, will last for a long time). The palette comes with Matcha bright light green eyeshadow and a transparent leveling lip balm - in fact, nothing else is needed for a sunny spring make-up.
MAC In Monochrome

MAC releases about fifty collections a year, so the brand's seasonal launches can be called conditionally - as a rule, there are several of them, and for convenience, journalists consider the "main" collection to be the largest. MAC's flagship launch this spring is perfect for its simplicity and In Monochrome: the brand took six best-selling lipsticks and came up with a complete makeup line for each one (blush, matte and glitter eyeshadow, lip gloss and loose glitter). This, by the way, is not a new format for the brand - a few years ago MAC launched Shadescents, fragrances dedicated to the main lipstick shades (four out of six coincided with the current heroines of In Monochrome), and last year there was a collaboration with Puma.

In previous collections, Lisa Eldridge most often played out fantasies about the rose, the main symbol of Lancôme, and this time the most remarkable thing in the collection is a funny jar of blush, which consists of individual letters (they form, of course, the word "Lancôme") … It is unlikely that this was foreseen by the authors, but they resemble the letters-blush of the pasta-alphabet, which many of us were entertained with in childhood - however, this association does not make the remedy worse, but, on the contrary, touches. In addition to blush and new shades of lipsticks, the collection includes a palette of eyeshadows in pastel shades - no basic matte colors, just shine and play.
