About microneedling, procedure, which has rapidly gained popularity in the last couple of years, we have already told - including the fact that today it is quite possible to conduct it at home. And now, microneedle patches have been announced as a new word in home care: we understand how one of the rare effective products that can be put under the eyes works.
How it started
Homemade masks and patches impregnated with serums of various effects are considered more of an entertainment segment of the cosmetic market - despite the fact that such products show some effect immediately after use, it does not last long due to the extremely superficial effect. Even if a tissue or hydrogel patch floats in a composition filled with active ingredients, the molecules of the substances will not be able to penetrate deeper than the upper layers of the epidermis. Therefore, experts usually recommend not to pin high hopes on home care, but to turn to cosmetology for "serious" results: today there are many types of even non-invasive procedures, the purpose of which is precisely to deliver the contents of the cans closer to the dermis, which means to provide the skin with healthy the view is longer than a couple of hours.
Meanwhile, one of the most promising medical inventions of recent years has become patches with microneedles - initially they were successfully used for transdermal delivery of vaccines and drugs and tested the first contraceptives created on the basis of this technology. The compositions can be different, but the principle is the same: on the "working" side of the patch there are hundreds of tiny needles, which, when placed on the skin, break off the surface and penetrate directly inside. These are not needles in the literal sense, but particles of a substance that is processed to a solid state, so there is no need to be afraid of foreign objects - after the microneedles are in the epidermis, they simply begin to dissolve. It is easy to guess that in many areas bordering on medicine, the technology was immediately considered brilliant, and the appearance of such patches for the skin around the eyes was a matter of time. First, they began to be made in Korea, and this year the first Russian-made microneedle patches appeared in stores.
Why is it needed
Many people love patches for the skin around the eyes, and some brands have even learned how to make them useful - the simplest hydrogel masks are good for preparing the skin for makeup, but in general, their effect is difficult to consider miraculous. Despite the promises of the manufacturers, they are able to smooth out bruises, swelling and wrinkles only minimally and for a very short time, and buyers still crave a noticeable effect - and, perhaps, patches with microneedles of different brands that have appeared on the market are really capable of this.
The sensitive skin around the eyes may not require special care, but if conventional cosmetics are irritating, and special creams and patches are disappointing in their uselessness, products with microneedles should be given a chance. For example, the manufacturers of Russian BLÓM patches claim that the result of using their product is equal to a mesotherapy session, and Swiss Clinic hyaluronic acid patches are called an effective remedy for mature skin - the brand's representative recommends applying them at night in order to noticeably smooth shallow facial wrinkles.
Where to find them
Microneedle microneedle strife - at least the first Korean experiments with patches did not receive rave reviews, but even they show a much more obvious effect than what can be obtained from basic masks. The Russian brand Librederm has such ones: they are not very expensive, so they are suitable in order to try and evaluate the effect of a cosmetic novelty. The patches with Vichy hyaluronic acid also received good reviews, and Russian beauty experts like the BLÓM patches, made not according to Korean patterns, but developed by Vasily Zvezdin, a scientist from Skolkovo.
Microneedle patches are not recommended to be applied before parties (although this is possible), but rather in a course - to provide the skin with the same long-term hydration that can usually be obtained only after visiting a beautician. Also, everyone who describes the test drives of products warns that the tingling sensation after applying the patches is normal: you should not be afraid of pain, but you must observe hygiene and thoroughly clean your skin and hands before use.
