WE REGULARLY PROVIDE A PLACE FOR PREMIER WORKS novice and already well-known musicians, directors or artists. For them, this is an opportunity to tell people about themselves, and for readers - to be the first to know about new products.
Moscow artist Diana Burkot explores new forms of artistic expression - and finds an idea as simple as effective. Her new album "Wait a minute", consisting of six tracks per minute each, is essentially nothing more than a playlist of Instagram videos.

At some point, I began to write tracks and shoot videos on them (in collaboration with Ekaterina Frolova) lasting one minute. The choice was explained by the Instagram format, to which I decided to pay more attention: the maximum length of a video that can be uploaded to a post is one minute. But then I liked that you can do laconic, precise and concentrated work that fully reveals the idea. Besides, I am a big fan of Anton Webern, and it takes only about three hours to perform all of his works (there are thirty-one of them).
In a 2012 interview, Robert Ashley told Hans-Ulrich Obrist that there is too much music and it is akin to global warming. With this in mind, I decided to make this kind of audiovisual album. The video on "microphone charmer" matured for a long time and grew out of the search for its own stage plastic. Of course, I am far from being FKA twigs, alas, but I really want to develop my own artistic sense of movement.
