Why finish powder, if at three o'clock in the morning, in a rather shaggy appearance, I will stand in line at the bar?

About beauty and haste

As a child, I lived in India. My classmates and I were running on the concrete roof, someone shouted: "Snake!" - I fell and broke my front tooth. She came to school, tear-stained, wearing glasses and with a sharp triangular tooth. And nothing happened further: no one offended me or mocked me. I quickly got rid of the illusion that I could become a typical beauty - but there are other things to do. Why dye my eyelashes when ninety percent of the time I blink in text documents? Why finish powder, if at three o'clock in the morning, in a rather shaggy look, I stand in line at the bar? But, of course, Instagram is another matter, you need to quickly take a picture and move on to more interesting things.

In a nutshell about leaving before the age of thirty: don't worry. With all my heart I am in favor of yoga, matcha and an eight-hour sleep, but for many years watching hundreds of my friends, I admire the resistance of our organisms.

What definitely hurts beauty is too early careers in Moscow. My twenty-five-year-old girlfriends are already some kind of boss. Where is the hurry? When I was twenty-three, I quit my job for a couple of months so that I would not be interrupted by playing Heroes of Might and Magic. Now - I don't work on weekends and need everyone to dissolve for a couple of hours a day, and in chats too.

About diversity

People will never stop evaluating someone else's appearance - but you can readjust the optics. A hundred years ago in Afisha we did the New Beauty issue. It was necessary to find girls with special features (in the examples there were freckles and crevices) so that they did not look like the cover of the magazine "I Buy". If you train to understand different beauty - in grandmothers with purple hair, in couriers, in little techno-socks and in bearded men from St. Petersburg bars - you see an incredible amount of beauty in a day. And it’s much easier and more fun to live, and in the end you can see your beauty too.

On a sober approach

Let's say that beauty is discovered, then prosaic questions arise: how to exfoliate and whether sanskrin is needed in spring. It is generally accepted that buying cosmetics is a kind of recreation, but in reality it is a terrible steam: there is too much of everything, everything is not cheap. I read that a couple of good bloggers and media have a say about each medium; whether this thing is a bestseller on Sephora and Feelunique or not; what about the composition they write in Paula's Choice.

It is more difficult to deal with the procedures - we have, on the one hand, opinion leaders who went to the salon of a former girlfriend for twenty million for free, and on the other - reviews: "This is a deception, the doctor is unpleasant, nothing happened from the mask!" I have not found anything more sensible than the site realself.com - there you can see which circles under the eyes of people are really upsetting and that it is not patches that help from them, but fillers. I recently saw a beauty ad unit. First, they were advised to take dietary supplements and "remove toxins", then "start skin regeneration" with the help of a cream. Obviously, this is all nonsense. The liver removes toxins (and it can be helped by drinking less), and the cream does not produce collagen for us. In general, in addition to evidence-based medicine, we urgently need evidence-based cosmetology.

About health

There are also plenty of normal beauty tips around. For example, my friend Pasha Vardishvili walks a lot. And he doesn't have any foundation, why does he look good? After him, I walk fifteen kilometers every day (and Pasha walks about twenty-five).Yes, it is dusty in Moscow, but nothing that micellar water cannot cope with in two minutes in the evening.

Or I broke my leg two years ago, I am in the hospital after the operation, they put out cabbage for lunch. They also carry it for dinner. And so a week. Very wonderful, I am actually on the jury of the Moscow Gastronomic Festival. But gastronomy on crutches is difficult. Now five days a week I have lunch in the Yandex canteen (where the most difficult sauce is called “sour cream”), I have dinner with food from VkusVilla, which can be folded into a conditional bowl - only this is just a board with turkey, cheese, bread, tomatoes and guacamole …

About technologies

I think that beauty and health will develop according to the technological scenario - with the exchange and analysis of data. On the Apple Watch, I know everything about our Psycho Daily gang: who is already on the bike and who is sleeping. The day will end the same way: everyone will close the activity rings. If we're lucky, in twenty-five years we will still decorate the tram stop with the poster "Moscow Longevity".

My sleep, movement, cycle and food apps share all the data with each other. Roughly such a scenario can be reproduced offline: discuss with a physiotherapist what the trainer said, with a cosmetologist - what the endocrinologist suggested. This is such a distributed advice of experts who can be asked questions at a normal reception, and not in a direct.
