June is the month of Pride in the United States, when Americans express support for the LGBT community and celebrate their successes. For several years now, brands have been joining forces with foundations to create themed items - often using rainbow symbols. This time, for example, Ralph Lauren released the Pride collection, 100% of the proceeds from the sale of T-shirts and 50% of the rest of the clothes will be donated to the international network of LGBT organizations, the Stonewall Community Foundation.
The Swedish IKEA network, which has repeatedly declared its support for the principles of equality, did not stand aside. Together with the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, they released the Frakta bag in rainbow colors instead of the usual blue. This is a truly universal thing, indispensable not only when going to the appropriate store, but also when moving, in study and everyday life. The most famous designers have repeatedly confessed their love for the bag. It is known that IKEA planned to release a collaboration with the Vetements brand, including using the Frakta bag (designer Demna Gvasalia even appeared in public in a T-shirt with IKEA branded logo), but in the end the brands could not agree.
All the money from the sale of new bags, called Kvanting, will be spent, among other things, on supporting LGBT teenagers who find themselves in a difficult situation. The model will be available in offline stores in the United States, so ordering it from Russia is unlikely to work - the only hope is on local friends and intermediaries who are ready to send it by mail.
