It would seem that after the tricks of the Nintendo corporation with their transforming console Switch and cardboard constructor Labo, it will be difficult for fans of game consoles to impress with something new. But Panic, which has been producing software for Mac and OS for twenty years and published the hit game Firewatch, succeeded. Playdate is a yellow handheld console with a crank (that's right). Besides its attractive design and size, how does it differ from other consoles?
The creators of Playdate approached the super-famous game designers Keith Takahashi (Katamari Damacy and We Love Katamari), Zach Gage (SpellTower), Bennett Foddy (QWOP and Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy) and Sean to design games specifically for their new device. Inman (The Last Rocket and Retro Game Crunch). They all agreed, so with the purchase of Playdate, the player receives not just a console, but also a subscription to twelve unique games, each of which will be released once a week for free. What is the handle for? On the site you can see how thanks to it you can literally rewind what is happening in the game back and forth. Not all of the twelve new products will use this technology, but the process looks very exciting.
