FOR THE HEADING "WARDROBE" we photograph beautifully, distinctively or oddly dressed people wearing their favorite things and ask them to tell stories related to them. This week our heroine is P.Y.E Optics brand director Julia Kim.

I grew up as an androgynous teenage girlm, and it was not easy for me to assimilate among my classmates. Moscow in the 2000s was not the most hospitable place for "guests of the capital", and sometimes very cruel. Many childhood and adolescent trauma is related to the way I looked. I think they stayed with me, if not forever, then for a long time and partly affected how I look now.
My style is such a jumble of everything at once and nothing at all at the same time. But I've always wanted to look different from the rest. Apparently, the fear that I stand out in the crowd because of my appearance has taken on such a perverse form: I want to be looked at.
Now, it seems to me, I am in the most relaxed stage of relations with myself and my wardrobe. Although sometimes problems with self-determination still surface. I naively tried to solve them with the help of paraphernalia, but at best it did not help, and at worst it pushed me even more.
Part of me wants to put on all the best rags at once, and another part just wants to calm down. I have been able to control this consumer chaos for the last year and a half. I don't make impulse purchases, always looking for alternatives before buying and looking for discounts. Things in my closet do not appear due to the “saw and wanted” reason. If they find themselves there, it is because “I saw, thought for a long time, decided, bought”.
I would like to be less attached to clothes, pay less attention and importance to them, but I'm not good at it. I tell myself that these are just rags, and that's the truth! But for some reason, every year I feel more and more pressure. It is important for me how I look and what I am wearing, but realizing my attachment to brands, niches, parties is frustrating and infuriating. I never wanted to be that kind of person.
Adidas Top, MM6 Maison Margiela Pants, Nike Phone Case, Balenciaga Shoes
I love one shoulder clothes and sports paraphernalia. I used the phone case for its intended purpose only once, and I did not really like it. I walked around the shoes for a long time. They were on sale at a deep discount, and there was only one pair in my size. Pointed shoes are my weakness, and these are the most pointed shoes I have ever met. In terms of budgeting, it was a dumb decision, but I really like these shoes.

Top adidas by Stella McCartney, MY812 skirt, Nike sneakers, Karl Lagerfeld glasses
Phew, good top, and in a feast and in the world, and comfortable and elegant. The skirt was actually a dress. It was sewn according to my measurements, but either I measured it wrong, or something went wrong in production, but it was impossible to walk and breathe in it at the same time. I chopped off the top with ordinary scissors, it came out sloppy, but I like it.

Nike top, Helmut Lang jeans, Reike Nen mules, P.Y.E x Facultative Works shopper, P.Y.E glasses
Many sports jerseys and longsleeves wear out more slowly than normal clothing. Practice has shown that jeans + pumps + sports T-shirt + jacket is my most working combo. And the prices for things of sports brands are nicer. I ordered jeans from Farfetch, for me it is the perfect match. For the shopper thanks to Olya and Lesha from Facultative Works and separately to Dasha from the St. Petersburg team P.Y.E. We have produced a limited edition of these bags for the last New Year. It's amazing how much this string bag can hold. The Plum glasses from our last year's The Bolds collection turned out to be the most popular, breaking all records. I have them in three colors.
P.Y.E x Facultative Works
Alexander Wang dress, Dorateymur mules
Dress and dress. Red. With rings.
P.Y.E x Facultative Works Scarf
Adidas dress, Balenciaga shoes
This dress has a print that emphasizes the waist, but even without the print I would love it: this is my length and my silhouette. The pink inserts are, in fact, mesh. In the summer it is so comfortable: everything is blown.
Adidas T-shirt, MY812 skirt, Dorateymur mules, Rushev cuff
This tee has a cool fit, especially the neckline. And it is perforated on the sides - just for the heat. Dorateymur mules bought for seven thousand rubles at Au Pont Rouge at discounts - a good deal. With one eye I watched the series "Deadly Class", where the heroine of Madame Gao wore a very beautiful, slightly aggressive Ek Thongprasert cuff. I was looking for this or a similar one for a month, but did not want to pay horse money for delivery. Everything that I liked and could afford turned out to be far away. These earrings by the Russian brand Rushev are not quite what I wanted, but they are still very beautiful. By the way, I'm still looking for unusual earrings and ear cuffs, so if someone recommends the brand, I'll be glad!
Nike top, Uniqlo U pants, Nike sneakers, Uniqlo x alexanderwang underwear, MSGM turtleneck
A year ago, I would never have walked out into the city in a crop top and with my hands as open as possible. I could only dress like this at sea. This year I do not care - I walk as I want.
Forget Me Not Bag
Schott biker jacket, adidas T-shirt, MY812 skirt, Dorateymur mules, P.Y.E x Facultative Works scarf
The jacket was removed from the boyfriend's shoulder. A good thing, it will serve for a long time, it costs its money. We released the Tyger scarf for the New Year, just like the string bag, in a limited edition. This is probably my favorite merch of all that we have done with "Electives". Olya offered to print the poem "The Tyger" by William Blake and also drew an eight-pointed star in the center. Together with the scarlet color and serif typeface, the scarf looks like some kind of mystical attribute, and it's cool.
This thing is often laughed at. Like, it is useless, impractical. But you know what? Not all things have to be practical.
Sweatshirt Champion, Farrow skirt, Balenciaga shoes, P.Y.E glasses
The skirt is a piece of checked polyester but a pretty piece. I ordered from Need Supply Co. The neckline sometimes turns from just flirty to cheeky, you have to constantly correct it.
Himère Jewelry, P.Y.E Badge x Facultative Works
These pins are the most beautiful ones I've seen. There are three of them in the set, my favorite is the mace. I don't wear badges other than these. I hope someday Olya will make her jewelry.
12Storeez Dress, Reike Nen Mules, A-Cold-Wall Bag *
I like dresses this length and this silhouette. This one also has a pretty color and long sleeves. My colleague Alyonka grabbed the last one for me. Decided to buy pink in size S after I bought this black in size M.
Helmut Lang jacket, Uniqlo x alexanderwang bodysuit, Uniqlo U pants, Dorateymur mules
I bought these mules at a sale in Au Pont Rouge for five thousand rubles, I think. In KM20, the same stood for the whole next year and cost about twenty. I wear this jacket more often than the rest of my clothes. I have never regretted the money spent, work little thing. The latest collection of Uniqlo x alexanderwang lingerie has proven to be as great as it is elusive. I found the pitiful remnants of XS in the bins, I wear it with pleasure.
Clip-on ear Rushev
Alexander McQueen dress, Balenciaga pumps
I really love this dress - I wore it at the prom at school. Now it's a little embarrassing to remember this: it seems that this expensive dress was not for the occasion, and not for age. I also once came in it to someone else's wedding. Not from a great mind, of course.
Pendant by Acne Studios
12Storeez dress, Prada sandals, necklace from Beryozka store
I would buy this dress in several more copies, it turned out to be very practical for me. Old sandals are perfectly preserved, except for the heel. Mom even tinted them with acrylics for me, but the flowers don't last forever even here. A beautiful pair of shoes, one of my favorites. The jewelry was given by my friends a long time ago, but I only recently started to actively wear it. It shimmers very beautifully in the sun.
Bracelet The Blue Box
Boyfriend'st. The three bare baguette-cut stones, though small, shine brightly. The most beautiful and favorite piece of jewelry.
