FOR THE HEADING "WARDROBE" we photograph beautifully, distinctively or oddly dressed people wearing their favorite things and ask them to tell stories related to them. This week our heroine is a make-up artist Fariza Rodriguez.

I am a make-up artist, and for work (that is, about 80% of the time) I dress as simply as possible: black or blue jeans, black or white T-shirt, boots or sneakers, situationally - a jacket and trousers. It's comfortable and neutral. I don't like to draw attention to myself on set or be distracted by uncomfortable shoes, for example.

My style as a teenager was influenced by my fascination with the Gothic subculture - I think this is immediately noticeable. When I was fifteen, I started going to school in red lenses, corsets, army boots and with a huge bat around my neck. It was at the beginning of the 2000s, for a minute, in Vladikavkaz. So since then I have developed a real poker face for any reaction about my appearance. My friends and I of those times joke that you can get a girl out of Gothic, but you can't get Gothic out of a girl, so since then the mood of my wardrobe has changed little.

Today I can wear sportswear and an evening dress - but I like it to be dark / decadent and always with a touch of self-irony. Every time I dress outside of work, I like to think of myself as a character. It can be a mythical creature, a literary or lyrical hero of the song I just heard. Anything - of course, passed through the prism of my personal stereotypes. There is a great story that describes the front part of my wardrobe. Once a stylist friend, after a fruitless search during the day, happily took out half of my closet at night to shoot a video, because in the references there was, let's say, "a vicious goth / vampire."

I am good at spontaneous shopping - this is when you start browsing online stores in your free time or go aimlessly into a mall and suddenly come across "that very thing." Especially looking for basic things like sneakers or cool jeans. Seriously, I envy people who can plan their wardrobe, because mine is made up mostly of these spontaneous purchases.

The desire to please others is absolutely normal, but for this it is important to like oneself, so clothes should be comfortable - first of all, psychologically. Even the most incredible dress will not give pleasure if you are not ready for it today. It would be great to be in a happy world where the dress code and stupid stereotypes about the appearance have outlived their usefulness, but for now we are far from it. So I try to look appropriate: I have clothes in my style, but for all occasions.

Katami Wear dress, Vivienne Westwood x Melissa sandals

Winged Vivienne Westwood x Melissa I once grabbed one of the last in Tsvetnoy. The black ones were already sold out by that time, but the gold ones seem even funnier to me.

Ramon Molvizar Goldskin perfume, unknown brand ring

My relationship with accessories and jewelry does not work out: I am allergic to most metals, I rarely like something, and if I do like it, it often turns out that I haven’t made money on this yet. So, "decent" decorations are gathering dust in anticipation of family events, I quickly get tired of big or strange ones. The only thing that doesn't piss me off every day is a simple hoop ring that I wear on my thumb. No, it's not engagement.

Agent Provocateur Dress

Agent Provocateur Thora is perhaps the most epic dress in my wardrobe. Strategic item for weird parties, spectacular adventures, or filming.

Eisenberg perfume, sautoir Dzhanelli Jewelery

A well-worn sautoir skull by Dzhanelli was given to me by my best friend, and this is my favorite piece of jewelry. It would be nice to bring him back to normal, but I can't part with him for a day.

Unknown Brand Jumpsuit, Vintage Shoes

The ability to come up with a cool, complex layered bow is a superpower. Not mine, so I love dresses, jumpsuits and everything that is in the "put on and go" format.

T-shirts - movie merchandise, H&M

Unknown brand raincoat from Pride showroom

Cloak of Nazgul (or Dementor - whichever you prefer) from Pride Moscow. So far I went out only for the children's birthday of friends. Where I, in fact, portrayed the Dementor. I don't remember the brand, I cut off the tag.

Agent Provocateur Corset

My favorite (and perhaps most expensive) part of my wardrobe is lingerie, and it's a passion that borders on fetishism. For example, I've only wore the Agent Provocateur corset once, but it really gives me pleasure to know that I have it.

On Diana - Stella McCartney Kids, on Fariza - dress WITH

Separate love - slip dresses. I have several of them, in different colors and from different fabrics. I bought it from Parcel.

Dressing children is a great pleasure, but I like to develop their independence in the matter of clothes too. So, if it works, we choose things together - with Eric, who is seven years old, and with Diana, who is two and a half years old. Surprisingly, even at this age, she already has a clear idea of how she wants to look. Moreover, she equally likes T-shirts with skulls and monsters, and princess dresses.

Byredo Seven Veils perfume, ring -t

I gave the Byredo Seven Veils to myself as a sign of big changes - I love it when the smell begins to associate with a certain time, place and circumstances. For me, this is the scent of one of the most interesting periods in my life today, and, as often happens, the limit. So I am now a regular at Avito and perfume publics - I buy up bottles and fear the future.

On a tiny street in the Old Town of Barcelona, my friend and I went into a small antique shop and decided to give each other a ring. I chose this one.

YAKUBoWITCH raincoat, Agent Provocateur shoes

I bought the shoes at my favorite Agent Provocateur in Dubai Mall. Why beloved? Because the brand, apparently, is not popular there, and old and even ancient collections (the same as the pin-up) several years ago you could buy there for $ 20–40.

Agent Provocateur Dress

Agent Provocateur Morrigan dress - boudoir. But since I don't have a suitable boudoir yet, and I want to wear it from time to time, I put it on with a simple black bottom dress.

Jumpsuit Escada, sautoir Dzhanelli Jewelery, Zara shoes

I got the vintage Escada jumpsuit from an older relative. This silhouette is one of the few things I miss in modern clothes.
