About drag

Due to teenage skin problems, I started using foundation at the age of fifteen. When that period passed, I could not give up the habit - and sometimes continued to resort to decorative cosmetics. Then it hit me in the head that I wanted to become a hair stylist, and became one, and pretty good at that. In addition to hair, clients often asked for makeup, so I decided to learn that too.

Once I saw a drag queen performing in a club, and I wanted to create something similar on myself. I watched YouTube tutorials, experimented and even shaved off my eyebrows for makeup (which I still do today). All this led me to what I am doing now. For me, drag, like makeup in general, is an art. At the same time, drag is much larger and more complicated, since you are faced with the task of not just making a make-up, but giving a hypertrophied femininity to a man's face.

A serious hobby began when, out of nothing to do, I began to paint at home and take selfies for social networks. All the looks were different, and in addition to the make-up, the wig and accessories were changed. After a while, I wanted to do a full-length shooting in the studio. Then experiments with images and clothes began: the wig disappeared, and the makeup became tight on the face and it began to spread all over the head.

Thanks to drag make-up, I got to the Makeup show. There I created thematic images the way I see them, regardless of the task set by the jury. After the show, I received a huge amount of support and inspiring words. This, of course, is incredibly pleasant and gives a burst of energy, I want more large-scale experiments. The environment and family are very positive about my hobby, with great interest.

About images

I, shall we say, live a double life, in which there are both male and female cosmetics - right down to specific fragrances. For a drag look, I need a dense make-up in several layers, since I change the shape of the face: volumetric color correction requires a lot of foundation and powder. With each image I experiment, discover something new in my face and master techniques. My main image was formed about a year ago - these are, first of all, huge arrows that change shape from time to time.

I love the play of colors, different textures. No makeup is complete without glitter, most often there is a lot of it. I will share an excellent life hack on how to remove it: if you use adhesive tape, shine and large glitter will not smear all over the face and scratch the skin. In each make-up I use lenses of different color and shape and I cannot do without false eyelashes - sometimes I use four pairs of the longest.

Each image is a surprise, often I don't know what will turn out in the end. It's like meditation, I am completely immersed in the process. Make-up time can take from two to four hours. It also happens that there is no inspiration: I start to paint and understand that the hand does not go, I go into a completely different story. As a result, I fall asleep with sparkles, telling myself that it's okay, next time it will be better. Sometimes I wash off everything that I have done unsuccessfully in two hours of work, and start painting again, encouraging myself: "I have to do this!" - and it turns out even better. Make is like a sport for me, a competition with myself: I wonder what else I'll do.

About leaving

I prefer mild products for oily skin and narrowing pores. Some of the most important are hydrophilic oil and micellar water, without which it is impossible to remove the abundant make-up. In the morning, I usually wash my face with either Klapp foam or Mary Cohr gel. If I shave, I use American Crew foam, then I use a cream of the same brand. I use the Klapp capsule cocktail in everyday life or before makeup, and at night I apply the fluid of the same brand under my eyes. I love patches and cloth masks, mostly Klapp too. Once a month, I definitely go to a beautician for cleaning: because of the drag-make-up, the skin needs constant renewal.

About accepting yourself

I have never had any problems accepting myself - both in appearance and in sexuality. The only but: at one time I was enraged by the shape of my nose, which I acquired through wrestling. But over time, this nuance taught me how to create a nose correction in a drag make-up. Now I don’t pay attention to this in my ordinary life, and in no case want to change something in myself.

As a hair stylist and make-up artist, every day I come across a lot of complexes in people - absolutely contrived and imposed by society. I believe that one should not pay attention to the standards and opinions of others, and conditional "flaws" are our inimitable zest. And social networks with filters have long been boring for everyone, which is very pleasing. In the beauty sphere, everyone, beyond recognition, changes themselves with their help, but what's the point? This is deceit - both of those around you and yourself. Anyway, having met a person in life, without a filter, you understand that the reality is completely different.

About harmony

Self-care is a complex of many factors, at the head of which is the search for harmony. True, it is not always easy to achieve it, especially in my case when you are trying to combine two personalities. I am a Scorpio, an impulsive person, and my mood can change every half hour. Meditation is a great way, I do it periodically. In general, I like relaxation, sometimes I visit floating, I adore full body massage. There is a very cool Yukuko Tanaka facial massage technique, which I myself often do without leaving my home. Sport is everything, before I was constantly engaged in fitness, and now I run periodically; really want to do vogue and tai chi. From time to time I come to the fact that I stop eating meat, but I still cannot give it up forever; also I can not deny myself a sweet. In general, I love to eat, but I try to control myself within reasonable limits. I also smoke until I was able to give up this habit completely.

To keep yourself in good psychological shape, you need to surround yourself with the right people who understand and accept you for who you are. But the most important thing is to accept yourself as you are, to do and look the way you want, and not pay attention to the negative. Of course, there are qualities that I would like to correct a little in myself, but this passes painlessly and smoothly - it is rather a process of growing up, accepting and understanding oneself. Well, the physical form directly depends on the psychological, one is impossible without the other.
