The search engine "Yandex" has shared data on the most popular and, conversely, queries that are losing relevance since the beginning of the pandemic and the introduction of restrictive measures.
The report is titled "From the comfort of your home" after the most popular add-on for inquiries in March. Now this wording is declining, as people are accustomed to new conditions, according to Yandex.
In order to have fun, users are increasingly looking for online concerts, virtual bars, and requests for "origami" and "learn to juggle" are also growing. Many people are still looking for "delivery" or "things to do", and in the shopping categories "buy a bread maker" and "buy an exercise bike" there are almost identical growth charts.
In the "work" section, the search engine highlighted a sharp increase in requests for unemployment benefits, and those who kept their jobs and switched to telecommuting are looking for ways to "organize a workplace."
Yandex noted a sharp drop in relevance in the queries “tie a tie” and “buy a suitcase”, as well as among services for movement and travel like Airbnb and BlaBlaCar. The full report can be read here.
