- Aluminum profile. For welded canvases, a wall or ceiling profile is sufficient. If you are going to make a ceiling with a divider, then you will need a special dividing baguette.
- Fasteners. For brick and concrete walls, screws and dowels will be needed. For foam concrete, dowels can be omitted.
- Gas heat gun. It can be rented. Its power must be at least 10 kW.
- Spatula for threading the web in profile.
- Cutting clamps. With their help, the material is fixed.
It is recommended to choose an aluminum profile, not a plastic one. The combined structure will be heavy, which means that a reliable fixation will be needed. Also select in advance the baguettes for stretch ceilings or plugs.
Fixing a profile for a combined stretch ceiling
After you have prepared the base ceiling for the installation of the tension structure - you have cleaned it of mold, unreliable pieces of plaster and primed the surface, you should start installing the profiles. They can be of different types - ceiling, wall and dividing. Most often, wall profiles are chosen, since in this case it is possible to reliably hide all communications and irregularities under the canvas, as well as install spotlights.
Think in advance about the drawing of the future stretch ceiling in the living room combined with the kitchen. If a dividing profile is required, mark its location on the ceiling.
We carry out work in the following sequence:
- Determine the level of the ceiling, make markings using a chopping cord.
- We apply the profile to the wall along the drawn line and fasten it with self-tapping screws and dowels. The step is 7-8 centimeters.
- We install the profiles along the entire perimeter of the room in a joint.
- We drill the dividing profile with self-tapping screws to the ceiling in the marked place.

Rules for attaching a stretch canvas to a combined ceiling
Most often, PVC canvases are installed on the ceiling using a harpoon method. At the ends of the web there are special harpoons that help to correctly fix the film in the profile.

- We heat the room with a heat gun to a temperature of +40 degrees.
- We unwind the canvas and slowly heat it up to a temperature of +60 degrees.
- We attach one of the corners in profile. Fix the second corner diagonally. After that we fix all the corners in the profile.
- We begin to stretch the heated canvas from the center to the sides. We fix it with a special spatula.
- If the ceilings are aligned using a dividing profile, then two similar procedures for installing the tension web are made on both sides of the profile.
After the ceiling is installed, we make out all the joints of the canvases with the wall with special plugs. We also close the joint of the canvases separated by the profile with a plug. We make holes in the foil for lamps or chandeliers.
