Peacock from plastic bottles
If you have a lot of empty containers from under water, drinks at your dacha, turn it into such an adorable bird. The large garden figurines in the store are expensive, and the ones you make yourself will cost you almost nothing.
A peacock made from plastic bottles with your own hands will become not only a worthy decoration of a personal plot, but also at home. You can put the bird in the winter garden, on the balcony or in the room and listen to how the guests who come to your apartment admire it.
Here's what to cook:
- green bottles with a capacity of 1–2, 5 liters;
- scissors;
- synthetic foam;
- blue wrapping paper;
- garbage bag in blue;
- foil;
- rope;
- Scotch;
- acrylic paints;
- stapler;
- glue gun with silicone rods;
- fine mesh;
- awl;
- wire;
- brush.
Rinse the bottles, remove the stickers, dry.
A master class on making a peacock from plastic bottles begins with a story about how to create feathers. They are shorter on the body than on the tail. Cut off the necks and bottoms of 1 and 1.5 liter bottles. It will take about 50 pieces. Cut this oval from the side to make a rectangular canvas. Then, it needs to be cut twice to form 3 nib blanks from each 1.5 liter bottle. From a liter you get 2 blanks. It is also necessary to cut out several squares from these plastic containers - these are future breast feathers.
Now, on one side, round off the blanks with scissors, and along the edges, using the same tool, make fibers.
The finer the fibers, the fluffier each feather will become. Put the same blanks in different bags at once so as not to confuse them.
Peacock tail decoration
For this part of the bird you will need 2 and 2.5 liter bottles. Make feathers out of them, as described above. Cut out small circles from the remaining bottles and wrap them in foil. Cut out ovals from the blue wrapping paper, which should be slightly larger than the circles. Now, with a stippler, attach a blue oval to the top of the tail feather, on it - a circle of foil. Decorate the rest of the feathers in the same way, or decorate them differently.
For this royal bird, you can make a colorful tail from plastic bottles. To do this, also cut out ovals, circles, but use a green, red container or paint this material in the desired color. Decorative elements are also fastened with a styler. Then you get this peacock tail.
Use a fine mesh net to gather the feathers of this part of the bird together. Attach 5 long tail feathers to its edge, make 2 holes on them with an awl and attach to the net with wire.
If you do not have some material, replace it with another one. When making this graceful bird from plastic bottles, you can take a piece of linoleum instead of a net. First, it is cut out in the shape of the finished tail, then it is also decorated with feathers using an awl and wire. After you have attached them to the bottom edge, make a second row of feathers, then the following ones.
How to make a Firebird from plastic bottles?
It's great if you have synthetic foam. It is easy to work with, does not crumble. Shape the workpiece from this material, cutting off the excess so that you get such a body with a head. String it on a metal pin driven into a wooden block, as shown in the photo.
If you do not have synthetic foam, then place the 5 liter bottle horizontally. At the top right, attach a 1.5-liter bottle with a cut-off tape to it - this is the neck. For the beak, cut 2 narrow long triangular plates, insert them into the neck of the next cut bottle. Secure them and the back of the head, which consists of the bottom of the bottle, with tape. Connect the structure. This is how you get the body of a bird from plastic bottles. Wrap the peacock's head in a blue garbage bag and tie it around the neck.
Now you need to cover the bird with feathers. To do this, use small blanks. Glue them to the plastic or foam body with a glue gun. The photo clearly demonstrates how to apply small and then large feathers from plastic bottles. Attach small details on the breast and rump, and larger feathers on the back.
Instead of a beak, a narrow-nosed red bottle is used. If you do not have such a triangular container, then cut out 2 pointed triangles. Glue them together or make holes with an awl and fasten these two parts with a strong, thin thread of red.
Attach the tail to the body. To do this, make holes at the joints, fasten with a rope. Draw the slanting eyes of the bird with paints. Make some beautiful feathers from colored plastic, attach them to the head of the feathered. This completes the work.
This Firebird is durable. It is enough to wash it occasionally, if necessary, change some part for a new one, and the peacock will delight you for many years.
Bird feeder from plastic bottles
It is not easy for real birds, especially in winter. Therefore, merciful people make bird feeders from plastic bottles and other material, fill containers with grain and hang treats from trees.
For such a bird-like mini-dining room, you will need:
- bottle with a volume of 1, 5 or 2 liters;
- scissors;
- 2 wooden spoons;
- tight rope.
Remove the label from the container, make 2 cutouts at the bottom of the bottle with scissors, one opposite the other, so that the wooden handle of the spoon goes through the first hole and comes out through the other. The first notch, where the round part of the spoon will be, should be located just below the second, where the handle of this decorative cutlery is located, so that the grain, if necessary, pours into a wooden container. In the same way, make 2 more cutouts in the bottle, above the first, so that the second spoon is perpendicular to the first.
Using a soldering iron or a heated nail, make a hole in the cork, pass both ends of the rope there and tie 2 knots. Place a funnel in the neck of the bottle, fill the container with dry grain, screw on the cap and hang the plastic bottle feeder on a tree branch.
For this device, do not take metal spoons so that ice does not form on them and the birds' feet do not freeze.
Shows how the following bird feeders are made from a plastic bottle photo. For such a mini-dining room, you will need acrylic paints. Take bottles of 2 and 2, 5 liters. Cut the large container below the shoulders with a wavy line (this will be part A), and cut the smaller one in half, only its lower part is needed (workpiece B). In this half of the bottle (B), cut a hole into which a small bird could fly.
In the upper part of the workpiece "B" make 2 holes opposite each other with an awl. Pass a strong rope through them, tie a knot in front of each of the two holes so that the string hangs slightly so that the birds can sit on it. Next, make a hole in the cork as described above and also pass the thread through it. Make a thick knot under the lid, tie the ends of the rope at the top in the form of a loop so that you can hang your useful creation for it.
It remains to paint it, dry it and you can fill it with treats for the birds. This is how plastic bird feeders are also made.
Toy penguins from bottles
We would like to draw your attention to another option on how birds are made from plastic bottles. After all, penguins belong to this class of animals. Such a craft will decorate the garden, become a chest for storing little things and an original gift.
To create three fun toys, you should have on hand:
- 6 bottles with a capacity of 2, 5 or 2 liters;
- brush;
- acrylic paints;
- a skein of thread;
- scraps of tissue.
How this craft is made from plastic bottles, we will analyze it step by step. For the upper part, the bottom of such a container is suitable, which may remain after creating creations using this technique. This will be a funny character's hat. For his body, take a container of the same capacity, cut off the neck and shoulders from it.
Put the cap on the bottom of the second bottle, connect these 2 blanks with a glue gun. If you want to turn the bird into a box, then you don't need to glue it.
Paint the figurine with white acrylic paint, let it dry and cover with a second coat of the same color. As shown in the fifth picture, circle with a black felt-tip pen the place where the penguin's face and abdomen will be. Leave the background white inside the label, and beyond that border, paint the large bottle with black paint. Color the feathered hat at your discretion, giving it any pattern and shade.
Before applying the second layer of paint, let the first dry well, then the work will turn out neat, and the penguin made from plastic bottles, made by hand, will look amazing. Draw 2 black eyes, a red triangular nose. To make it clear where the head ends and the body of this flightless bird begins. Cut a strip-scarf from the flap, tie it around the neck of the toy. Cut the ends with scissors to create a fringe.
When the painted hat is dry, glue a thread ornament to the top of its head. Here's how to make this yarn pompom: Cut 2 identical cardboard templates into rings. Place a thread between them so that the ends hang down.
Now wind the yarn tightly in a circle so that it hides the patterns completely. Next, cut with scissors around the outside of the ring, in a circle. Gently pull on the 2 ends of the thread that you inserted between the cardboard rings at the beginning. Tie the ends together, cut the paper rings along the edges, take them out, and a beautiful fluffy pompom is ready.
Glue it to the top of the toy's headgear. The rest of the penguins are made from plastic bottles in the same way. And now, a funny trinity in front of you.
A lot more useful things can be created from this material. Stay tuned for new articles, materials will soon appear on how other toys are made from plastic bottles, a palm tree, flowers, an ottoman and even a fence, a greenhouse.
In the meantime, watch the video, and maybe you want to make something from empty containers right now!
