Lentils are a plant in the legume family. In our country, this wonderful culture is not the most popular product, however, the demand for it is growing more and more. It is tasty, healthy and a lot of dishes are prepared from it, incl. and make soups. And in combination with meat components, such as pork ribs or pork belly, an amazingly delicious soup comes out. Yes, and cooking it is pretty quick, simple and not expensive. This soup will be a great option for a family lunch and dinner.
Unlike other legumes, lentils do not need to be pre-soaked, which greatly speeds up the cooking process. At the same time, all the advantages are fully embodied in it - excellent taste, benefits and aroma. The product contains a lot of protein, complex carbohydrates, various minerals and vitamins. And what is especially pleasing is that lentils do not accumulate harmful elements and have a positive effect on the nervous system. That is why it is advised not to neglect such a valuable product.
Any kind of lentil can be used to make the soup: red, green, black, brown, yellow. But here it should be borne in mind that the fastest cooking is red and brown, and longer - green, because it boils down much slower.

Ingredients:
- Pork ribs - 500-600 g
- Lentils - 350 g
- Potatoes - 1 pc. (big)
- Carrots - 1 pc.
- Onions - 1 pc.
- Sweet red pepper - 1 pc.
- Garlic - 2-3 cloves
- Salt - 2/3 tsp or to taste
- Ground black pepper - pinch or to taste
- Bay leaf - 2 pcs.
- Allspice peas - 3-4 peas
Making Lentil Soup with Smoked Pork Ribs
1. Wash the lentils and place them in the cooking pot. Peel the onion and add to the lentils. Place bay leaves and allspice peas. Pour the food with drinking water and put it on fire. Boil, lower the temperature, put the lid on, and continue cooking.
2. Peel and dice the potatoes and carrots. Peel and cut the garlic into 2-3 pieces. Wash the bell peppers, remove the seeds and cut into pieces.
3. Send vegetables immediately to cook in a saucepan. Increase heat to maximum, bring to a boil and make a small flame again.
4. Cut the pork ribs into pieces so that each has a bone.
5. Dip the ribs into the vegetable pot. Bring to a boil.
6. Continue cooking the soup until all vegetables are tender and tender.
7. Remove the ribs from the pan, and put the vegetable mass in a bowl. Use a blender to grind the food.
8. You should get a homogeneous thick mass similar to mashed potatoes.
9. Return the vegetable puree and smoked pork ribs to the saucepan and boil again. Season the soup with salt and pepper to taste.
10. Pour ready-made puree soup into tureens, put a couple of ribs in each portion and serve. To taste, you can pour sour cream or cream into a plate, or sprinkle with grated cheese. It is very tasty to use this first course with crackers.
