A step-by-step recipe with photographs for cooking an exotic curly fruit called sweet potato (sweet potato) with cheese and balyk in the oven.
After I tasted sweet potatoes for the first time, now I often buy them for cooking in various variations: I just fry in oil (the most delicious), I make porridge - millet with sweet potatoes, or rice, I bake in the oven. It is very good to cook it when you want something sweet, because you don't need to put sugar. Naturally, for us Russians or Ukrainians, "sweet potato" is something new and unusual, but in fact it is a very tasty and nutritious plant with oblong fruits. It is a pity that while this pleasure is not cheap, but once or twice a month you can buy a kilogram and pamper yourself and your family with oriental culture. At the time of writing the recipe, in Ukraine one kg of sweet potato costs 20-21 UAH, and in Russia a kilogram will cost about 200 rubles.
In general, its Russian name "sweet potato" is not very suitable, in my opinion, since it only looks like a potato, but tastes like a pumpkin, very ripe and sweet. Ordinary fried sweet potatoes should be served as a dessert, and not as a second course for meat, even sugar is not necessary to add, salt is also not necessary. It's not just sweet, it's terribly sweet! But also delicious.

Ingredients:
- Sweet potato - 760-800 g
- Hard cheese - 120 g
- Balyk (better with layers of bacon) - 180-200 g
- Dill - 1 bunch (large)
- Salt - 1/3 tsp
- Black pepper
Cooking sweet potatoes in the oven:
1. Peel and wash sweet potatoes. Cut into cubes: cut it lengthwise, then slice it in half again and 1 cm wide pieces.
2. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater.
3. It is better to take a balyk with layers of bacon, it will be tastier this way. Cut it into long and thin strips.
4. Wash the dill, tear off the sticks and chop finely. Dill is better to take more than less, do not feel sorry for it.
5. Next, prepare the baking sheet. You can spread everything on a pre-greased baking sheet and just cover the dish well with foil on top, or you can, like me, completely make a tin of foil, grease it also with vegetable oil and cover it. I chose the second option, since the baking sheet is large and so that everything does not come apart, I made a smaller form.
6. First, lay out the sweet potato, then pepper and salt it well (1/3 tsp).
7. Sprinkle with dill.
8. We spread the balyk or shank.
9. Cover the top well with foil. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and bake the sweet potatoes for 35 minutes. Then we take it out of the oven and let it stand for 20-30 minutes so that it cools down a little. The sweet potato baked in the oven with cheese and balyk can be served while it is still warm.
