Symbols of the Soviet deficit and Russian wealth have merged into one, presenting the world with a nourishing and beautiful salad "Monomakh's Hat". It is a multi-layered salad made from a wide variety of inexpensive and popular foods. It is not particularly complex, but very sophisticated. Traditionally, it is prepared from boiled vegetables, any kind of meat and is dressed with mayonnaise. Everyone can create it, while decorating ideas are not limited to anything, only the imagination of the culinary specialist.

Preparing a salad is very simple, and a large selection of products is used. So, very common ingredients are potatoes, carrots, beets, boiled eggs, cheese, walnuts, parsley, pomegranate, garlic, mayonnaise and any type of meat. Today, all these components can be easily found in any supermarket. Time to create such a luxurious meal should be set aside no more than an hour. Because most of the time beets, potatoes and carrots are boiled.

  • Beets - 1 pc.
  • Potatoes - 2 pcs.

Step-by-step preparation of the "Monk's Hat" salad:

1. Dip the washed vegetables into a saucepan: beets, potatoes and carrots. Cover them with drinking water, add salt and simmer after simmering until soft. Potatoes and carrots will cook faster, so remove them early and continue cooking the beets until tender.

2. Wash the chicken fillet, put it in a saucepan and boil in the same way in slightly salted water. Simultaneously set the eggs to boil until they are steep. Chill all boiled foods well. Since the cooking and cooling process takes a long time, I advise you to prepare food in advance and prepare the salad in the morning.

3. When all the ingredients are prepared, start shaping the salad. Select a dish and place the grated potatoes in it.

4. Spread the potato layer with mayonnaise.
