Grillage is a famous French dessert made from roasted nuts. This is a favorite treat for both children and adults. You can find it on the shelves of supermarkets for sale, but you can easily make such candies at home on your own. In addition, it should be noted that such candies do not contain anything harmful to health, unlike their industrial counterpart. There are no dyes, preservatives or flavorings in homemade sweets. The required set of products and labor costs are minimal, not much time is needed, but the result is amazing. If you want to make the sweets even tastier, they can be covered with chocolate icing. Also, the chef can adjust the density of the roasted nuts himself, making it softer and quite dense. For piquancy, a little alcohol is sometimes added to the composition. Cognac “sounds” best of all in roasted candies. But sweets are tasty even without it, and for a children's table it is better to do without alcohol.

In the absence of walnuts, roasted nuts can be made independently at home from peanuts, almonds, hazelnuts, sesame seeds, sunflower or pumpkin. In this recipe, I used a walnut as a base, the beneficial properties of which there is no doubt. The cores of these fruits contain many trace elements, healing vitamins and biologically active substances. Walnuts are good for everyone, especially children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems. However, it is worth remembering the high calorie content of the product, especially for those who follow the figure and are afraid to gain weight.

1. Peel the walnuts. In a clean, dry skillet, pierce them until golden and ruddy. Stir occasionally as they can burn quickly and spoil the taste of the candy.

7. Grease the parchment with a thin layer of vegetable oil and spread the nut mass in an even layer no more than 7 mm thick. Tamp it tightly. While the mass is hot, use a knife to make cuts at the fracture points of the layer into portioned pieces of candy. Send the walnut roasted candies to freeze in the refrigerator for 1 hour and serve them to the dessert table.
