We take lard fresh or salted. You can also take marinated with garlic, pepper and other spices. This will greatly affect the taste of the finished dish. Step by step cooking of fried potatoes with bacon
1. Before cooking potatoes with bacon, prepare vegetables. Peel and cut into strips. It is not worth thinning the pieces too much so that the dish does not turn out to be dry. But you don't need to make large pieces either, this will slow down the cooking, and the result will be a taste that is far from ideal. So, the thickness should be 4-6 mm. Then place the potatoes in a deep plate and fill them with warm water for 15 minutes. Drain and pat dry with a towel.
2. We cut the bacon arbitrarily, but it is better to make the pieces look like potato slices.
3. Before frying potatoes with bacon, pour a little vegetable oil into the pan or spread the fat. Warm up and spread the potatoes first. Fry over high heat until a fried crust appears.
4. Spread the bacon and sprinkle with chopped herbs. Fry for about 10 minutes over high heat. Be sure to stir a couple of times during this time. You do not need to mix more often, because the potatoes will not have time to fry. Add salt, sprinkle with pepper and cover. We cook for another 5 minutes.
5. Now we check the readiness. We take a sample or try to chop a piece of potatoes with a fork. If necessary, bring to readiness without a lid.
6. Delicious and aromatic fried potatoes with lard are ready! We serve it in portions with pickles, salad from fresh or boiled vegetables.
