Ingredients:

  • Water - 2 liters
  • Dumplings - 300 grams
  • Potatoes - 250-300 grams (2 medium potatoes)
  • Carrots - 150 grams (1 piece)
  • Onions - 150 grams (1 piece)
  • Vegetable oil - 20 ml
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optionally - greens, bay leaves, black and allspice in a pot

1. The first step is to deal with potatoes. There should not be a lot of it in the soup, it is better to take more dumplings (if you have them, of course). We clean the vegetable and cut into cubes or strips. Fill with cold water and set over high heat.

2. While the potatoes are cooking, prepare the frying. Without it, the soup will not be so tasty, and the color will be completely dull. But fried carrots will give the soup a bright color. Peel and cut the carrots and onions into strips or cubes. Carrots can be grated.

3. Saute the onions and carrots in vegetable oil for 5 minutes (or until the potatoes boil). The heat is moderate when roasting and remember to stir the vegetables to prevent them from burning.

4. When the potatoes boil, skims off the foam.

5. Add frying. Salt and pepper the soup to taste. Cook for 5 minutes without a lid.
