Since this is a simple way of harvesting, which can easily replace fresh tubers, while it will weigh many times less. Such a blank is suitable for people who lead an active lifestyle and go on vacation to nature in tents. Since such potatoes can be used for cooking various dishes in the field: soup, stew, stew … During heat treatment, for example, boiling or stewing, dried slices tend to grow in size. Another advantage of dried potatoes: they are stored for a long time.
For drying, it is advisable to take white potatoes inside. It is denser and takes longer to cook. At the exit of such a potato there will be 200 g of dry harvest from 1 kg of peeled tubers. For drying, potatoes are cut into various pieces: cubes, slices, slices, straws … Here you can experiment and choose the method that you like best. When choosing a cutting method, keep in mind that a thin layer dries faster and more efficiently, and the cube dries inside for a long time and swells like a small ball.

Ingredients:
- Potatoes - 2 pcs.
- Salt - 1 tsp
- Ground black pepper - 1/3 tsp
Step by step cooking dried potatoes in the oven, recipe with photo:
1. Peel the potatoes and wash them under running water.
2. Cut it into thin slices 3-4 mm thick. Although the cutting method can be different. Choose the one you want.
3. Fill the potatoes with clean water and leave for half an hour for the starch to come out. Then the potato slices will be crisper.
4. Remove the potatoes from the water, rinse under running water and pat dry with a paper towel.
5. Place the potato slices on a baking sheet so they do not touch each other. On one standard baking sheet from the oven, two large potatoes, cut into slices, are placed.
6. Season the potatoes with salt and black pepper. If you wish, you can add any spices to taste. I note that you need to salt and pepper it if you use it like chips. If you are cooking for future use, for further use in other dishes, then do not use any spices.
7. Send the potatoes to a preheated oven to 100 degrees and dry the potatoes for about 5 hours with the oven door ajar. Turn it over from time to time so that it dries evenly on all sides. However, the drying time will differ depending on the cutting method.
Store ready-made potatoes dried in the oven in a glass container and lid in a dry, dark place without high humidity.
