Few people know that Koenigsberg-style meatballs come from Kaliningrad. Previously, Kaliningrad was called Königsberg. The city has a rich history, incl. and culinary. For example, the famous Koenigsberg klops, the famous marzipans, popular flakes, and, of course, meatballs. Königsberg cuisine was famous throughout Europe and adorned historical German cuisine. In Soviet times, it was forgotten, but in recent years, old dishes are remembered with pleasure. Today you can sample traditional Königsberg food at some of the local restaurants. I'll start my story with a recipe for koenigsberg meatballs.
By themselves, meatballs are quite popular in almost many family menus. Using different ingredients, sauces, spices, etc. you can get interesting dishes that are different from each other. The peculiarity of this German recipe is the addition of cheese shavings to the minced meat and stewing the meatballs under a thick layer of twisted tomatoes. Such a dish can be safely served not only for a family dinner. Koenigsberg-style meatballs will become a wonderful hot snack and the main decoration of the festive and New Year's table.

Ingredients:
- Meat - 600 g
- Ground black pepper - a pinch
- Processed cheese - 150 g (you can use hard varieties)
- Vegetable oil - for frying
- Eggs - 1 pc.
- Onions - 2 pcs.
- Tomatoes - 250-300 g
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Bran - 2-3 tbsp. (not necessary)
- Salt - 1 tsp
Step-by-step preparation of juicy koenigsberg meatballs:
1. Wash the meat, peel off the film, remove excess fat and twist through a meat grinder.
2. Peel the onions and twist as well, and pass the garlic through the garlic.
3. Grate the cheese and add to the minced meat. Also pour in the egg.
4. Season food with salt, ground pepper and any spices. Add bran as well. While this product is optional for this recipe, it only adds value.
5. Stir the minced meat until smooth so that all foods and spices are evenly distributed.
6. Place the slicer attachment in the food processor and place the sliced tomatoes. Chop the tomatoes until smooth.

10. Cover the pan with a lid and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer the meatballs for half an hour until tender. Serve hot food with any side dish.
