Peas have always been famous for their high content of vitamins, trace elements and nutrients. Many dishes are prepared from it: soups, salads, snacks, canned food, mashed potatoes. It is used for filling in pancakes, casseroles, pies. This review will be devoted to pea puree, for the preparation of which you need to know certain secrets and subtleties.
The main and important point is to soak peas in water for 5-7 hours. Since it is a heavy food to digest, it is recommended to serve it for breakfast or lunch so that the body can process the legume before sleep. Pea dishes contain a low calorie content, while they are very nutritious, so 100 g of such mashed potatoes will satisfy hunger for a long time.
In addition, legumes are also a real find for vegetarians, because is one of the plant foods that contains a huge amount of protein. This makes it possible to replace them with meat dishes. And the combination of protein and carbohydrates turns peas into a necessary product for the full development of the body, from which it is often served in kindergartens.

Ingredients:
- Peas - 150 g
- Eggs - 1 pc.
- Butter - 50 g
- Salt - 1 tsp or to taste
- Drinking water - 300 ml
Making pea puree
1. Sort the peas, sorting out chopped, broken and spoiled. Place in a sieve and rinse with running water. Transfer to a bowl and cover with drinking water to double the volume of legumes. Leave for 5-7 hours to swell, while periodically (every 2-3 hours) change the water or stir so that the peas do not ferment.
2. Transfer the bean to a strainer to glass water and rinse it under running water.
3. Pour the peas into a saucepan, preferably with thick sides and a bottom, so it will not burn, and fill with water so that it covers the product twice as high.
4. Bring the peas to a boil. Remove the resulting foam with a slotted spoon or spoon.
5. Reduce the temperature to the lowest setting, cover and cook for about 2 hours until soft and crumbly. Season the dish with salt half an hour before the end of cooking.
6. Drain the remaining liquid and puree the peas with a blender. If there is no such device, then push it with a potato pusher.
7. Beat an egg into the hot puree and add butter. Mix the food again with a blender.
8. Put the finished dish hot on plates and serve. It goes well with meat and smoked products, such as chops, cutlets or pork ribs. And since peas are rich in protein, it is permissible to use them as an independent dish with vegetable salad.
Note: You can cook mashed peas in this way, not only on the stove, but also using a multicooker, microwave or pressure cooker.
