And although Armenia is not a tea-producing country, it has been customary to drink tea in Armenia since the time when our country was part of the Great Silk Road.
Armenia is not supplied with tea plantations, but a country with a rich nature, which is supplied with valuable medicinal herbs, spices and spices. It is from them that Armenian tea is prepared, which has a special taste and healing properties. Such teas refresh, tone up, relieve pain in the stomach and intestines, improve digestion, increase appetite, and relieve an attack of nausea and vomiting. Ingredients:
- Ginger powder - 0.5 tsp (or 1 cm fresh root)
- Lemon - 1 ring
- Anis - 2 stars
- Honey - 1 tsp
- Cinnamon - 2 sticks
- Cardamom - 4 grains
Step by step preparation of Armenian tea, recipe with photo:
1. Dip the cinnamon sticks into the glass. If there are no sticks, then ground cinnamon (0.5 tsp) will do.
2. Add the cardamom seeds to the glass. You can grind them in a coffee grinder if you like. But then reduce the number of grains by half, because the concentration of spices will increase.
3. Then add anise stars, which you can also chop and reduce the amount.
4. Next add the ginger powder. If using fresh ginger root, peel and grate or chop finely.
5. Wash the lemon, cut into rings and add to the cup.
6. Boil water.
7. Pour boiling water over the spices, cover and leave for 5 minutes.
8. When the tea is brewed, strain it through a fine sieve or any other filtration. Add honey to the drink, stir and start tasting Armenian tea. You can drink it warm with baklava, nougat and other oriental sweets. It also tastes good when cooled down.
