This dish is quite popular in Egypt. It is eaten on the wedding night, as it is believed that it increases the potency of a man. If you are an exotic lover, then appreciate this dish. I have a large portion - 10 pigeons. You can always reduce it by two or three times. The calorie content for one ready-made pigeon will be approximately 280 kcal.

  • Cooking time - 1 hour 20 minutes

Ingredients:

  • Dove (with giblets) - 10 pcs.
  • Green onions - 1 bunch
  • Butter - 100 g
  • Chicken broth - 4 cups
  • Wheat - 100 g
  • Mint - half a glass (less)
  • Salt and black pepper

Cooking pigeons:

  1. First, you need to prepare the chicken broth. While it is boiling, you need to cut the pigeon offal and onions.
  2. Melt 100 grams of butter and fry the giblets and onions until lightly blush. Add salt, pepper, mint and wheat to them.
  3. We take salt and pepper and rub the carcasses with them.
  4. Put the filling inside the pigeon.
  5. The holes in the carcasses need to be sewn up (the most tedious task in this cooking process).
  6. Then place the pigeons in a saucepan. They must be cooked for 20 minutes in a small amount (4 cups) of cooked chicken broth.
  7. Next, take out the pigeons from the saucepan and place them in the oven, which must be preheated to 200 degrees. We keep in the oven for 30 minutes. During these 30 minutes, it is necessary to periodically pour the formed juice into the depths.

Enjoy your Egyptian appetite!
