The main quality of huskies is versatility. They can hunt anyone: from hazel grouse or duck, to bear and bison. The East Siberian Laika is considered the largest, and the Karelian-Finnish Laika is considered the smallest.
Hunting huskies are a little more compact, less sled dogs. The growth of the Russian-European husky is 60 cm. They are extremely hardy, undemanding in food, they can starve for a long time and sleep in the snow. Likes cooperate with a person, are independent. It is impractical to keep them in apartments, and in the village there is no price for these dogs.
3. Spitz
Japanese Pomeranian If you choose a Pomeranian, remember that this is not a decorative breed for you! A pair of Spitz can easily handle a wolf. At the same time, the Spitz is a cheerful, courageous and proportionally built dog. He is not afraid of any infectious diseases. The growth of a wolf-spitz (German) is 45 cm at the withers, a large spitz is 40 cm, a dwarf spitz is 28 cm.
This breed of dog has varieties, Spitz:
- German
- Pomeranian
- Finnish
- American Eskimo Spitz (pictured above)
- Japanese and others
4. Greyhounds
These are very beautiful breeds of dogs. They were bred in Russia, were considered aristocratic dogs and participated only in horse hunts. Unprecedented speed - up to 60 km / h - is not their main advantage. They are extremely strong, despite the external fragility - an adult dog enters a one-on-one battle with a wolf and usually wins. They are reserved, trusting, polite.
Greyhounds come in short and long haired, tiny and large. The most famous among the short-haired is the English greyhound (gringout). She is graceful, elegant, reciprocates if she is treated the same way. A smaller copy of the gringout is a whippet.
Breed: Italian Greyhound - the smallest of the greyhounds (pictured above). She has long since turned from a hunter into a living toy. Afraid of a cold, pampered, cowardly.
Afghan hounds are very popular now. Their majestic appearance arouses great interest in the breed. Self-esteem, restraint, independence - these are the traits of their character.
The coat of the Afghan Hound is of fantastic colors: from dark and cream to brown and red. There are black Afghans, white, blue, black and silver, black and tan and Marengo colors.
However, one should not forget that the Afghan is a capricious breed of dog in its content, an extraordinary one, requiring from the owner the necessary level of cynological culture.
The Afghan is a companion dog that requires an individual approach. One can observe how in the ring the expert assistant, the expert or the owner himself is unsuccessfully trying to get this dog to show its teeth. And then he refuses to walk around the ring, then he goes to rest, looking around with irony.
This breed is considered the quietest dog: it barks in exceptional cases. Exists well with other animals. His presence is not noticeable in the house, he can lie for hours somewhere, without disturbing anyone. Afghan is very friendly towards all people, but does not tolerate familiarity towards himself. He tries to avoid annoying signs of attention.
Afghan monogamous. He will never fully obey man. This breed is ready to die for the owner, but will not give in to the end. You will not be able to achieve absolute submission to any Afghan.
