Before installing the stained-glass window, all general construction or repair work must be completed. The place of its planned location should be cleaned of dirt, dust and debris. Then you need to mark the fastening points of the product or its individual elements.
Stained glass door on the wall
The installation of a stained-glass window in a door block is carried out in two ways. Decorative glass, fixed in the canvas, can form a protrusion or be flush. In addition, the stained-glass window itself can act as a door leaf.
Fasteners are selected for the materials from which both the door block and the stained-glass window are made. Stained glass window on the wall

- Measurement … At this stage, it is necessary to carefully examine the niche, make the necessary measurements, study its features and draw up a diagram of the installation of the stained-glass canvas.
- Preliminary work … They include cleaning the niche from dirt and dust, eliminating its irregularities and distortions, if necessary, painting the cavity or pasting it with wallpaper. Outside and inside the niche, you need to apply the markings according to the drawn up scheme, and when planning the backlighting, lay an electric cable.
- Stained glass installation … It should be carried out at the stage of completion of finishing work. At this stage, the frame structure is installed and the decorative cloth is fastened in a suitable way.
- Installation of additional elements … It includes the installation of seals to ensure the reliability of fastening glass and lighting fixtures.
- The final stage of work … It provides for checking the functionality of the stained-glass window, its compliance with technical requirements and safety. In addition, at this stage, the premises are cleaned and the stained-glass window is cleaned from contamination that appeared in the process of working on it.
The installation of a stained-glass window into a niche can be carried out with a movable and stationary fastening. With a movable mount, it is carried out inside the frame or on hinges. Fastening inside the frame provides for the manufacture of a wooden or metal sash, which is inserted into a wall niche.
In the case of hinge mounting, monolithic stained-glass windows (filler, film or painting) are fixed in the form of sashes by drilling special holes in them for installing hinge mechanisms. In this case, the fittings will experience significant loads during operation. Therefore, when choosing, you should pay attention to its reliability and quality.
Stationary fastening of the stained-glass window provides for the use of holders "pelican", decorative screws or installation of decorative cloth inside the frame. The first option is the most popular. One part of the pelican mechanism is attached to the wall with a dowel, then decorative glass is applied to it and the second part of the fastener is screwed on. When installing a stained-glass window in this way, the most even wall is required.
When using decorative screws, the stained-glass window should be 5-7 cm larger than the niche size. Four holes for fasteners are pre-made in it. With a large size and weight of the stained-glass window, the holes for the self-tapping screws may be larger.
