- Servings - 6 thin cakes with a diameter of 20 cm
- Cooking time - 20-30 minutes for kneading the dough, plus 5 minutes for baking each cake
Ingredients:
- Butter - 150 g
- Starch - 50 g
- Honey - 3 tablespoons
- Sugar - 2 tablespoons
- Ground cinnamon - 1 tsp
- Ground nutmeg - 1 tsp
- Eggs - 2 pcs.
- Vodka - 30 ml
- Flour - 300 g
- Baking soda - 1 tsp
How to make honey cake layers:
1. Cut the butter into slices and place in a bowl. Add honey, ground cinnamon and nutmeg to it.
2. Fill a saucepan with water, filling it 1/3 full and place on the stove. When the water boils, place the container with food so that it does not come into contact with the boiling water. Heat food, stirring occasionally. It is necessary that the oil and honey are completely dissolved.
3. In another container, beat the eggs until a fluffy mass is formed, which should double in volume.
4. Pour the egg mass into butter. Continue to keep food in the steam bath, stirring regularly.
5. Pour vodka into the food and stir.
6. Then add starch and stir again to dissolve well.
7. Keep the mass in a water bath. When it just starts to boil and bubbles form on the surface, remove it from the stove.
8. Then add flour and baking soda.
9. Knead an elastic and resilient dough. It should not stick to the hands and walls of the dishes. Add flour in stages, because it may need less or more. It depends on the manufacturer and its gluten.
10. Divide the dough into 6 pieces and roll them out with a rolling pin. Pick up a baking sheet and transfer the rolled dough sheet onto it. You do not need to grease the baking sheet, because there is a sufficient amount of butter in the dough.
11. Heat the oven to 180 degrees and send the cake to bake for literally 5 minutes. As soon as it becomes golden, immediately remove it from the brazier and remove from the baking sheet. This is done very easily, the cake will fall off of it by itself. Continue baking the remaining 5 cakes in a similar manner.
