And although drying fruits is not as popular as freezing, it is a good way to preserve all the beneficial properties in fruits. The main thing is to dry them correctly. Today we will start harvesting pears, because this fruit is very healthy. It is loaded with sugars, fiber, organic acids, pectin, and more. Pear contains vitamins B1, C, P, PP, carotene and is rich in trace elements like iodine. Drying is also suitable for those housewives who do not have a freezer, or there is no longer a place in it, but want to keep the fruit.

For drying, select pears that are not green and not quite ripe. Small fruits are best suited. Choose summer varieties, with an astringent taste and coarse pulp will not work. Pear powder is prepared from dried pears by grinding the dried fruits in a special mill. The powder is combined with cinnamon and used to sprinkle porridge or in baking filling. The longer the pears are stored, the firmer and drier they will become. Such drying must be steamed before use to make it soft. Do this in the oven or simply pour boiling water over and leave for a few minutes.

1. Wash pears and wipe dry. Remove the seed box from the fruit and cut into cubes. There is no need to peel the fruit. Do this only if the pears have a rough and tough skin. If they are small, dry them whole. You can also cut the fruit into slices or 4 pieces for drying.

2. Put the pears on a baking sheet in one layer and place them in a preheated oven at 55-60 ° C. At this temperature, bubbles will not form on the fruit under the skin. Turn the fruits several times during drying so that they dry evenly on all sides. When they do not stick to your hands, it is considered that drying is ready. The exact drying time depends on the pear variety, but on average it takes about 2 hours.

If there is no oven, then you can dry pears in the microwave. To do this, put the sliced slices in one row on a tray and put them in a microwave oven at a power of 300 W for a couple of minutes. Turn the fruit over and continue drying for the same amount of time at the same power. You can also dry the fruit in the sun for about 2-3 days. At night, they need to be brought into the room and covered with a cotton towel.
